The LS2 PCM is supposed to have a lot more memory and more power(speed probably). I would guess you will have to wait a few months before a good program is available to work with it. Since the GTO and SS are getting the LS2, I think it will be a priority for some tuners.
Forget Carputing!!! HP Tuners is the way to go. Not too many C5 guys seem to know about it, but picture LS1Edit plus AutoTAP in one. That's PCM editing, scanning, and logging all in one product. Oh, and it's not VIN locked, so if you buy it for your 2004 Corvette, you can edit ALL 2004 Corvettes. The scanner will work on all LSx-based vehicles so you can scan your Vette, your friend's Z28, or even your Silverado. (And it's cheaper than Edit too!!!)
I don't work for them, I'm just a very satsified customer.
FWIW I doubt the LS1Edit cable will work with the LS2 PCM. The PCM is a Bosche unit with much more memory and speed as mentioned. Its also placed inline with other modules on the same bus, so isolating communication with just the PCM is another problem. More then a few people have had a crack at trying to program is but have come up short. My guess is it will be someone who works very closely with GM to be first out with code for this. Then from there it will trickle down to other tuners.
I am glad to hear of HP Tuners. I will never buy another LS1Edit product after they refused to provide the W2K SP4 patch (which was released during my 1 year update period) unless I paid $100. Very poor customer service and documentation...
