Default Cartek C6 development car

We took delivery yesterday, of our precision red 6 spd C6. All I can say is WOW. What a great car.

We will start tomorrow with base line dyno testing. The exhaust is the first mod we will test on the dyno and the track. We will post all the results.

We will be at Englishtown this Saturday for the Corvette Challenge for any one who wants to take a look. We will be happy to answer any questions about the plans for the car.

On a side note, John C. is going to try and attend with his beautiful Daytona Orange C6. We will be installing twin turbos this winter on his car.

Wow! 358rwhp with no mods? That's close to 420hp at the crank. Wonder why the disparity between the cartek dyno results and the LG ones. Not that they are WILDLY different, but 15rwhp isn't totally insignificant.

Nice.

Nice.

It may be the milage. We put 444 miles to break in the engine. Also it may be the computer learning and the milage.

Carlisle 347.9RWHP and 348.6RWTQ in 89+ degree weather and high humidity.

Nice, that is really close to ZO6.
What grade fuel?
CA is limited to 91 from the pump so our numbers will be less.
Looking forward to all the after market mod's.

Very impressive. You've either got a strong one or the breakin miles really do make a difference. Can't wait to hear how it performs with some mods on it. Also curious to see the first 1/4 miles times on Saturday. Should hit mid 12s with ease if the conditions aren't terrible.

What's your opinion on the LS2 intake/tb? Worth anything on a C5 or is the FAST setup going to make more power?

I don't think it is high. I believe after more cars are tested, these results will be average.

Saturday will be a lot of fun.

Only after testing will we know which intake is best.

Dave Hill said that a change in the exhaust sytem on the LS2 as installed in the C6 will not show any improvement in power. It will be interesting to see what you come up with. Sure wouldn't hurt to enhance the sound though!

The real challange will be headers with those cats right at the exhaust manifold.

I don't think Dave meant a "catback system" but a LT header setup!

Dave, keep us all posted with the results. You got one year to get it worked out before my 06' ZO6 shows up!

Nice.
since the LS-2 uses ZO-6 porting and a larger bore to unshroud the valves with the same RPM limit on top you can check the HP per cubic inch the ZO-6 makes and compare that to 347 cubic inches vs 362 cubic inches and you get 420 HP

I think Dave Hill did mean an exhaust system. The exhaust manifolds look pathetic next to LG's headers.

Which begs the question for those of us less knowledgeable in this area: If GM knows the exhaust manifold holds back the engine, then why don't they put headers on the car from the factory? Is it an emissions thing, certification thing what??
