Is that a number (30 rwhp) you can feel in street driving?

Interesting. I would have initially guessed that headers alone were useless unless head work, edit, cam, etc. accompanied it.
Thanks for the info.

Yes, long tube headers are good, look into the new QTP headers as well.

There was an article in a magazine recently where going to headers from LS-1 stock manifolds either lost power or, even with big headers, gained very little.

Is that article B.S. or questionable?

Thanks.

LT are ( IMHO ) the best bolt on for HP increases. 20-30 HP alone then with air intake and x-pipe and exhuast AND DYNO TUNE 35-45 HP addittion, just from bolt ons.

Another advantage of LT is they will remove exaust heat from the engine bay and foot well in the cockpit. Cooler feet and tunnel.

Which LT is best?? well dont want to start a flaming contest. Listen to several brands and see which one you like the sound best.

There are many good brands out there:

Kooks
LG
TPIS
Borla
to name a few. I am sure there are more out on the market.

Stainless Works also has headers ready for the C6. Our headers were used on the MTI built Z07 which won the One Lap and we have also added the C6 headers to our line. They are 1 3/4" CNC Mandrel bent with 3/8" laser cut flanges. Our C6 header is entirely new and designed to specifically fit the c6. Our c5 header would fit with some "tweaking" but we wanted to make a nice, clean installation, so we designed a completely new header.

Prices start at 999 for just headers, 1349 for an off road center section package and headers, and 1599 with random technology converters. Our center section uses a 3" x pipe and includes all clamps and hangers for a bolt on installation.

Thanks

Did not see the article, but have been using 4 tube headers since 1965. They were then and probably still are the easiest and the best performance per dollar mod one can make.

These guys have the dyno results for proof (like scientific evidence)!!! I'd buy 'em. Reasonably reversable too if you are in to that stock thing.

I saw it and read it, it did show that the later stock Z06 manifolds flow quite well but if what they're saying is at all true then they're actually disputing/refuting YEARS of claims about the gains from long tube header swaps on late model Corvettes and this I just find a little hard to believe.

Default Speaking of high flow cats?

Which are the best and how to get them?
I was looking to upgrade the exhaust on my C6 and i want one from headers back

Best headers
Best X pipe with high flow cats, i do not want to eliminate them
B&B bullet system

Any advice?

Thanks

Default Doubt That Great a Gain on the C6 from Headers

I’d wait to see dyno results by headers alone on a C6. Headers are costly and expensive to install. With reengineering the C6 do you think that GM design engineers trying to get max performance from the C6, were so shoddy on the stock headers to leave 30 HP for an aftermarket company to claim? I doubt it. I think you could get more bang for your buck with other items like high-flow Cats, NOS, turbo or superchargers. Saw a post the other day where a guy lost HP from a bolt on. Be careful.
