Since the ZR1 has Ferrari brakes, this is interesting. Every Ferrari brake system must be able to complete 10 laps at the Fiorano race track with no fading.

The $20K figure included tires and wheels needed to clear the brakes, sorry I wasn't more clear.

Tires and wheels to clear the brakes go for about $4000 putting the cost for ZR1 brakes at about $13000.

What kind of quality wheels and tires are you going to get in at size for $4000?? Cheap repros and a set of cheap tires to with em, maybe. At least add some more for wheels and tires that match the brake upgrade!

OZ Ultraleggeras and Michelin PS2's from Tire Rack. The same as Jim has on his. I wouldn't call them cheap repros with junk tires.

The straights show the acceleration of our car. Since then we have removed 11 more lbs, with a ZR1 hood and lightweight lug nuts.

So cool!

Jim, any idea what software/camera system the C6R is using?

Not sure. Jason at Katech might know. Short Throw would know for sure, since it is his C6.R.

ForgeLine's EV1 fits in an 18". That is what I had on Lou's car for the Spectre 341 hill climb.

Those wheels combined with Toyo's took almost 50 lbs of rotating weight off the car.

JVP also has them on his ZR1 as well.

Biggest thing you have to worry about when doing the ZR1 brake change is that the wheel going on the car will clear the brakes, and also that the hub of the wheel is small enough or has a larger enough chamfer on it to clear the drop center on the hat of the ZR1 brake rotor. Not all wheels do and this can lead to a wheel not bolting down tight, coming off, or damaging the brake rotor hat.

I was the first one to drive Jim Hall's car on the track. The brakes had been bedded for the street but they did not work worth a crap for the first few laps. I was surprised. Then I bedded them and wow what a difference. These brakes are every bit as good as Brembos in my opinion. Jim's engine is also to die for. A Katech E85 engine that has unbelieavable smooth power.

Interesting. The EV1s are not THAT different style-wise from OEM Spyders. I wonder whether Spyders would clear with or without spacers.

Not even close to the same inner diameter on the wheel.

I don't believe any of the Z06 OE wheels to have the correct center hub on the wheel to clear the hat on the ZR1 brakes if they did.

I recently got a set of the zr1 brakes. I already have a 19/20 wheel setup. Very small spacer and it fits. Now. The sensor plugs are different. My 09 z06 sensor connects to the hub. My zr1 is on the caliper. I'm assuming stick with the factory. Correct? Any other adjustments or items I'm missing?
