I read an article from SEMA stating that the C7 would be a 2014 model. It would sort of be based on a '63 looking Corvette, maybe even with a split window. The article says that the Corvette would be 2" longer, and 2 inches narrower than the C6 model. Engine displacement would be smaller, possibly single or twin turbos, prducing more HP than the base C6. If anyone else saw the article, maybe you can help me out here..... ( If I'm wrong, "Don't shoot the messenger" )
I know for MOST of you, that the boxster/Cayman twins are not in your sites. They are for me..................Redesigned Boxster, and photoshop Cayman are all over the web.
Need to see the C7 before I make up my mind. GM come on!

I test drove a Cayman a couple of weeks ago and it's really a fantastic car! GM started out with very definite statements and commitment regarding the design goals for the C7. Global reach, younger audience, revised configuration, new engine and transmission technologies etc. This implied a new and exciting car was in the wings. These announcements have fizzled out leaving only rumors and the clamor from current owners demanding only minor evolutionary changes that respect the Corvette traditions (front engine, RWD, pushrods etc). Based on this, I've pretty well concluded that GM was blowing smoke on the C7 and that it will just be a face-lifted C6. This will be too bad for the Corvette if it turns out that way. Unless GM steps up and reaffirms their commitments to serious change, I'm considering not waiting for it any longer.

I'm considering. If the C7 sucks (split window or something stupid), I'm going to wait until Nissan puts a bit more power under the hood of their Z car and make the jump. They are already VERY appealing and the only reason I didn't go 370Z was the 280whp.

Time for GM to put out a teaser of some sort to get some energy in this C7 business
I don't think they want C7 energy yet, C6 sales have dropped, they have huge incentives on them now and I doubt they want too much more interest in C7s at least until most of the 2011s are sold.

Have you considered the GTR? Not the best looking car, but quite the performer!
The styling is okay -- except for the front license plate and the base wheels, of course -- but I'm really disappointed by the interior. The materials are up to snuff, sure, but the center console still has that easy-to-assemble hide-the-gaps look, the steering column is still manual-tilt, the seatback is still manual-adjust with a flimsy plastic handle, the HUD is the same low-res monochrome job and only available with the $4K option package, the steering wheel is a straight lift from a Malibu rental, and the nav unit is GM's best five-year-old tech.
OK, let me put it this way, I don't like the looks of the C7 prototype that GM released to Hollywood to be in the new Transformers movie.
Seeing as the Camaro prototype in the 2007 Transformers movie looks exactly like the F5 Camaro I expect the C7 to be very close to, to exactly like the prototype..
But you are correct, it is possible they will change it.

Chevy and GM has said many times that that car is absolutely NOT the C7 prototype.
