So if I told you suppliers and GM employees are working on it right now and have seen the car you'd say thats impossible right?
Cool, I guess I'll go back to fantasy land where people who work on cars that are 2 years out work on them before they come out. Oh wait, that's reality.
How someone was able to get sketches like these is beyond me. Someone is getting fired...
Don't be a jackass.
All I'm saying is that there is way too much speculation on the C7. Everyone claims they have seen it, and that all the photos and sketches that have been plastered all over this forum is "THE" C7.
Since you are claiming this as fact, could you please let us know the source of this information?
Source being my own personal knowledge of being in production for Ford for 19+ years. Changing models and body styles takes reprogramming of every robot in the plant. My area ( paint automation ) is one of the first spots to get the new models because it takes a considerable amount of time to teach every robot the positions they need to be in. Trigger points and spray patterns. Bodyshop is the other area that has a lot of robotics. We will run a few units through these areas once they've been programmed into the system and then they will be taken offline, loaded into a truck and shipped back to Detroit for the final touches ( trim levels, electronics and such ).
I have nothing to do with the auto industry but it seems logical that the design of the car is already set and that many people working with the C7 have seen its final form as production is not that far away.
Jalopnik seems very confident of their posted images, and I believe them to be a reliable source. Also Mike Conti (Corvette Mike) has posted the story on his website and seems to confirm the design.
I also happen to like how the car looks in these images and will probably trade my ZR1 for a C7 ZR1 when it becomes available.
As with everything in life, time will tell.

Have to agree with this based on the evolution C5 to C6 and what has been directly quoted from the Corvette folks so far:
desired price range alas "Japanization"
GM/Chevy desired ROI
I supposed we all want the supercar/exotic look for 50K...I just don't think is going to happen and actually kudos again to Corvette if this makes it to market along with evolutionary performance improvements....
Does anyone have any "spy" drawings of what the C6 was supposed to look like? I'm curious to see how close the production car looks compared to what was "leaked" by magazines.
From all ive read and seen, im going to highly doubt this is the real deal. That isn't to say, though, that Ray Wert didn't think it actually is, he probably was good and well convinced. I think this is merely marketing and getting helio views at the same time. Ray may not know it but i doubt that's it.
I think there are design cues from the real thing in that, I wouldn't doubt that. I'd bet that rear quarter window will be there. The real lights I think will get a refresh but not that radical. Etc etc.
The thing is though, resssssssss all the things that gm officials have said about it. This car doesn't come any close to the things they said. Not close.I'm not going to post all of those little details, you can read that, but it seems obvious this isn't quite the real vette.
"Where's the signature Targa Roof?" Not on the ZR1.
"Same roofline and rear quarter window as the Genesis Coupe, minus the Genesis quarter window bottom line scoop. Same trailing edge flip up!" OMG you're right, the Genesis invented all of these styling elements...
"Borrowed straight from the Korean designed Hyundai Gensis Coupe" No, it was borrowed from the Ferrari 599.
"Same wheelwell crease as Gensis Coupe" Actually, they did rip this off, but from this car: http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-sports-car/

The Ferrari 599 doesn't look as good as ANY Grand Sport, Z06, or ZR1 Corvette ... They should be chasing the Corvette design!
