The new C7. Three of us are so sure that the New C7 is going to be awesome that we dumped are C6'S. We don't want to get stuck again with a market saturated with old body styles. Anyone remember the 1996 Grand Sport price drop? I sure do!! It's a buyers market now, imagine when the new body style hits the showroom and we all know the dealers have no trade in mercy. It ought to be interesting to see the future prices of a C6 ZR1,GS or ZO6. Our only fears are the interiors of the C7, could it get worse? Buy American.
In terms of getting the most money for your c6, good move. But we don't even know for sure what the car will look like/how it will perform (I'm sure it'll be good though...). As far as the interior, I think GM has already been taking a step in the right direction by using better seats and materials in the centennial editions.

The C7 should be a great car. However, I wouldn't touch it until the third year based on previous Corvette model changes. That's a long time without a Corvette.
But, then again, I have no interest in an aluminum framed street car. You might find C6 prices actually increase.
Dunno what'cha talking about. C5s retained a lot of their value for a long time. I bought my first C5Z in 2009 and people were still asking $25-28K for them 5 years after the C6 came out.

Going Vettless for 2 or 3 years doesn't sound very appealing to me just to save a few grand. I will drive my C6 Z06 and enjoy it. If I like the C7 better down the road, I will buy one. Life's too short to give up on a car that you enjoy owning and driving for something that hasn't even been built yet.
Money is over rated. Cars are meant to be enjoyed.....
I'll enjoy my 2008 c6 z51 manual with NPP for as long as it continues to give me the fun driving I require.
I felt the same way about my c5 z06..
Depreciation over the years is normal for any car purchase and a little extra drop as the new model releases is again totally normal... and acceptable.
Let see what the c7 actually is from both a technical and styling perspective to even decide if its the car many of us chose to replace our c6's with.
Who knows? maybe some c6 owners will wait for the c8?
hard to say until GM wets our appetites with more information and photos of the c7..
That said...I'm anxiously waiting to see if its a must have ! Always a fun time when a new corvette generation releases.

Could easily get worse for me. My knees are on the dash of a C6 vert, but I have about an inch of space in the coupes. I seriously doubt I will trade my Z for a coupe, so I am at least the second year of C7. I typically am not a first year buyer, so I am good for a while.

A few grand ?? I sold the 09 roadster and took a 21,000 bath. The other guy sold his 08 Z and lost over 30 K. What you ask is one thing what you get is another. The offers we got from so called Vette dealers was a joke. Just remember most the c6 vette owners have gray hair. The C7 WILL be a hot hot seller. The last harrah for a lot of us babyboomers.

You are probably right. All I know is I sold my 2003 Z06 for 17,600.00 with 21,324. miles in 2006 after it sat on the auto trader for 15 months. The only good thing it was more than the dealer trade offer with the trade in tax savings on my first c6 06 coupe. In the long run I still lost. took to long to sell.

What your saying is understandable. I will buy the first year. Longer body style life. Remember you put a 05 next to a 2012 and the average Joe wouldn't know the difference. You don't have to be a marketing wiz to see the 05 / 06 will be the best c6 bang for your buck in the aftermath of the C7.

If you buy a new Corvette and sell it during the the first 1 to 3 years you are in the midst of it's steepest depreciation curve. Those kinds of losses are to be expected and have little to do with the next generation Corvette. Will it get worse? I don't know but I also don't know how much I'm going to like the next Corvette. I am happy to enjoy my car now.
I just bought my 2011 Grand Sport in September. I'm wondering if I should have waited for the C7 to come out. If the changes are really dramatic, I might bite the bullet on a trade-in for the new Z06
