Why is everyone expecting the entry level C7 to be faster/quicker then the outgoing Z06? If the incoming entry level C7 is faster/quicker then the outgoing entry level C6, then it is a success. There will be a high performance C7(might not be called a Z06) that will be faster/quicker then the outgoing C6 Z06.

The entry level 1963 Corvette C2(250 HP) was slower then the outgoing high performance 1962 Corvette C1(360 HP). The entry level 1968 Corvette C3(300HP) was slower then the outgoing high performance 1967 C2(435 HP). Then the government got ahead of technology and untill the C5 came out(technology had a chance to catch up with the government) it didn't matter. The entry level 2005 Corvette C6(400 HP) was slower then the outgoing high performance 2004 Corvette C5(405 HP).

Why should things change with the introduction on the 2014 Corvette C7. The entry level C7 will be slower the the outgoing high performance C6. But, and count on it, a high performance version of the C7 will be faster/quicker then the outgoing high performance C6.

As a C6 Z06 owner, I have no problem with that. I expect the C7 high performance to be faster/quicker then my Z06, but it's not realistic to expect the entry level C7 to spank me.

I dont expected it to be.What I did ask is what the C7 would have to weigh to have similar performance to the outgoing Z.Btw how did the C5Z compare to the C6 LS2?
