The peaked fenders restricted the driver's view to the right of the car and it made it hard to avoid curbs when turning to the right. View to the rear was more restricted than modern cars. This version would be even worse since it has the dreaded split window. There was a healthy trade in converting 63 split window coupes to the 64 back glass once the 64 was introduced. Everybody hated the split window. No reason why it won't be universally hated again if they make a car like that.

You can be a dreamer or you can talk to somebody who lived through the time period and find out what it was really like.

Conversely, I drove a 75 for 11 years and never hit a curb and was always aware of what was behind me whether I could see it or not.

First thing I said when I saw that concept was, "build that car and Corvette and I are finished at the C6 era". The only people getting excited over that are the same old coots that want some throwback bs.

The 60's were great, we get it. How about we make this era great by doing something....NEW..

I'm perfectly fine with where the C7 is headed....

I always thought that should have been the C7. Granted they would have to clean up the front and rear a little to make it less concept car-ish. But the overall look is awesome. Especially the side profile.
I always look at this car and think, man, what I wouldn't give to drive something so incredibly wicked and sinister looking.
Little boys would scream in delight as it drove by...Celebrity starletts would be begging me for a ride, the Earth would shift polar axis's, world peace would begin....Oops...Lost my way there for a minute.
But this should have been the basis for the C7.

A lot of people did. I thought the body had merit but the front and back were overblown. It certainly would have been different than anything out there.

I was disappointed to see the hidden headlights go when the C6 came out, but I love the C6 (especially wide-body models) now. I'll probably love the C7.

Final note: I'd much rather have a NA engine than a turbo if it was up to me. The best example I can think of is the Ferrari 458 vs. the McLaren. The Ferrari sounds incredible at high revs (as does the C6 Vette in my opinion). The McLaren is a very similar car to the Ferrari on paper, but it has a microscopic engine with twin-turbos on it, and it doesn't sound nearly as good. To me, a car has to look good, drive well, but also sound like a proper sports car.

I remember all the criticism when the C6 came out mainly the front which was the biggest difference from the C5 and with time it has grown in people that at first did not like it.

For the most part forced induction engines (911 Turbo, Nissan GTR) doesn't sound as nice as N/A, ZR1 is an exception it sound awesome.

Supercharger versus turbochargers.

There's a reason why Ferrari and Lamborghini stick to naturally aspirated engines. The GTR and Volkswagen S6/S7 can go to hell for all I care. I wish my 640 had an NA engine. Oh well, at least the 'stang and z4 do. And my C7 will too
