i will say they nailed the rims perfectly, i usually dont like new rims on new cars but they nailed these for sure. i just hope there is a way to get rid of all those plastic vents everywhere. im thinking black will help hide them. thats one thing i hate on the C6Z, plastic.
just to let ya know...these are the same rims that hyundai puts on a VOLESTER....I CANT FN BELEIVE IT
Oh, come on now. I'm not a C7 hater by any means and most likely I'll end up buying one, but there's no way I would say it looks better than the 458. That's probably the best looking Ferrari in 30 years and having seen it in person I can tell you it's absolutely stunning. Honestly, there's no comparison in the looks department IMHO.
I swear to god. I never liked the 458. It just doesnt look right to me at all. I've seen them up close and personal, but to me, its ugly. I feel the C7 kills it in looks.
The guy says right in the Autoweek video, the new tail lights were very intentional in the name of attracting younger buyers etc... indeed the goal with this car was to move ahead into the future and not be too concerned with the past. This new C7 surely looks a lot more like a modern day exotic. Perhaps us old guys who love and appreciate the C2 and C3 are just a dying breed. GM may very well know that the car will ultimately be more successful this way. It looks more like the high-end competition now. I guess if you're trying to build the best, most cutting edge sports car in the world, there's a limit to how much "retro" you can put into it. This new car seems less about sexy styling and tradition (C6) and more about raw performance... looks more like a flat out race car... I guess that's not such a bad thing really. The C7 does look like its going to be one very bad-*** performer. I'll miss the tradition though, but hey, we all gotta move on sometime. Can't live forever, may as well try different things. As long as the performance is killer, no complaints.
cant agree more, this car is awesome!! im speechless as well. thank you for the fresh post, for all the haters, go away!!! LOL
Absolutely. I love the lines and shape, interior looks much better and the 450 Hp with at least 450 tq is nice. Can't wait to it in person but definitely a home run.
the square tail lights, the rear end in general. the side peek-a-boo window lol. serves absolutely no purpose. the interior is a C4. look at it from the top, front to back, stingray. the interior plastic and trim. the front end from the wheel well to the nose is a little long, again like the stingray.
I swear to god. I never liked the 458. It just doesnt look right to me at all. I've seen them up close and personal, but to me, its ugly. I feel the C7 kills it in looks.
Well, I'll respectfully disagree with you and leave it at that because I think the 458 is probably the 2nd best looking car being made today behind the Aston Martin DBS(and soon to be Vanquish).
So, I have to wonder, if there had been the internet and a Corvette Forum in 1962, what would they have said about the '63?
I don't know, I just really like this car. Am I absolutely thrilled with every component? No, I'm not. But it's good enough that I could get past those little details. This appears to be a really well thought out car, and if the estimated MSRP of $55K is true, a real value for the dollar, maybe more so than any Vette before it. This car is huge step forward for Corvette, imo.
Now for those that hate it, well, to each his own. I get where you're coming from. Whether it be from a traditionalist view, or you just don't like it. That's you're right, and you have every right to state it that I have to say I like it. It's that simple. And sales will be the final judge. If it doesn't sell, it will change, plain and simple.

Not sure why there are so many haters. As a long time Corvette enthusiast, I personally like it. Still a bit unsure of the interior, but exterior is very nicely done. And, we all know it is going to be a screamer, even in base model trim.
The haters exist because its a shock to their systems. They expect every corvette to look like the one it just replaced. In other words, predictable. This C7 is very different and they feel left out. They want the flip up headlights, the shinny chrome wheels, the round taillights, and the fuzzy dice.
I'm glad gm has one buyer I think its just a matter of history preference. Those who see the mid years and early c3's as icons want to see history in the corvette. The c7 has little more than the stingray name to recall it's history. It's not so much that the taillights are bad because they resemble the camaro, they've just wrecked the tradition of four round taillights, that has existed since 1961. On the other hand, the people that want the latest and greatest don't see the mid years as anything more than an old car. They want a new, sharp sports car that has world class driving. Corvettes have always had the balance of new and old until now, which is why so many people are upset.
I said this in another thread just now but . . . they did kept Velocity Yellow and Z51. Still will deal with the rear, slight fins (like the vent length though), and the hood crease when I see it. Interior, eh not sure. Basicly not sure about anything until I see it and would wait a couple of model years to debug anyway.
