As a hardcore and dedicated Porsche owner, I am now buying American. GM hit all the right points to sway me to buy this car. Just sold my 2009 911 in anticipation of the C7 on the renderings and it surely did not disappoint. The fact that GM targeted a different segment of buyer for this model certainly paid off. I have another friend who has an R8 who is also looking to purchase a C7. Neither one of us would have even considered a Vette had they not made such significant changes to the car. It is a spectacular work of art. Move over Europe, you have some competition from North America!!

Thank you very much, this is so true. I too, myself have not owned a Vette in a long while, as I think they have become stale. There is nothing to like about a C6 interior. Have been in the market for a used 911, or an Aston Martin Vantage, but haven't pulled the trigger in anticipation for this car. Based on what I've seen today, I very well may be a Corvette owner again. I'm glad she's shedding her old image, and moving forward. Great job GM.

This is exactly what the "corvette purist" don't seem to understand. The Corvette is stale. Its had virtually the same design since 1984, just updated alittle with each version. Its BORING. You can only revamp the same generation so many times. Chevy needed to do something to attract buyers from OUTSIDE the corvette line up. They needed something FRESH and NEW and they did just that. They created a whole new look for the car that could be revamped for C8 and so on. The corvette needed to appeal to younger buyers since they hold the future of the corvette in their hands. They lost the stereotypical image the corvette had as a "midlife crisis" car.

Sir, with all due respect ..

There is nothing new to this car IMHO ..it looks clumsy .. can't even stand looking at these fake clip-on vents

They are there for function, not looks.

OMG what a stupid attack.....you realize every vent is functional, just as the C6 vents.

Haters gonna hate.....enjoy your dated looking C6 with Saturn Cobalt Solstice steering wheel with crap seats and Atari 2600 grade nav system.

Well put. If they hadn't done a full reconstruction of the Corvette it would have died along with the current owners. Now there's a good chance for the brand to live on.

I'm not a Corvette fan, only a Corvette C6 fan... to a point. So it doesn't get more unbiased than me. This new C7 just doesn't do it for me in so many levels. The hood looks like a Civic aftermarket one; too ricey with those ugly slats. Those taillights are just hideous. The front fender 'gills' out of place. The rear fender top gills just awful. And forget GM broke with tradition with the tails. The worst move they made was on the rear glass, probably for cost savings. The car looks like a Hyundai Genesis Coupe now, only without rear seats. And as claustrophobic as a Camaro as well. Inside, that video-game age instrumentation just doesn't do it for me. Even Ferrari is moving in that direction, but at least they kept the tacho fully analog (no middle screen). The worst interior move was that tacky 'separation' with a handle. Looks like a cop car now, where you want to be isolated from the passenger.

Anyway, probably not important for GM, but I know when a car can grow on me, and this one absolutely cannot, for many reasons. Glad I pulled the trigger on the '12 GS a year ago. But my next 'touring' car will be the 991 911 Carrera S. That car is finally growing on me with the latest interior and exterior changes, as well as dynamic improvements. It was going to be a hard decision between that and the C7, but that decision was easy to make today. Wish GM well with the C7, but they went in a totally different direction of the C6, like if the C6 was a disaster. It could have been a much nicer evolution, since contrary to what GM loves to say, it's NOT an 'all-new' car. The C8 could be, but this one is a C5.2 (or C6.1), just like the C6 was a C5.1. With GM's recent bankrupcty and the worst recession in recent history, I don't think anybody expected a truly 'all-new' car. Just something like the C6, which kept the good of the C5, and improved on the rest (up to budget constraints, obviously).

Its GORGEOUS!!! Its futuristic. It look like its going 200 mph standing still. Its a CORVETTE!!!!!!
- 9 years and way over due! Stingray model too - over 30 years since Chevrolet used that name in a Corvette.

It Chevrolets first attempt since the early 2000s to sell the Corvette worldwide again! Maybe the second time around it will sell in Europe and Asia. We will know by tracking sales in China of all places since most supercars are in high demand.

Love this! It is quite badass looking. I may get one, but I think I am really hoping that this brings the C6 Z06 a bit lower in price...the less I spend, the happier I get.
