I'll reserve judgement until after I sit in the car and crank up the stereo. It would be hard to fathom that they would screw up the sound system for yet another generation of corvettes, especially now that other GM vehicles have decent sounding sound systems.
Really depends on the application. I've heard some Bose systems in vehicles that sound great, some that suck. And probably none that I would call "world class". As we all know, the C6 application definitely sucked. But the 13 speaker Bose system in my girlfriend's G37 hardtop vert.. sounds pretty damn good!
The B&O systems in Audi's & BMW are spectacular and the Levinson systems in Lexus are also well regarded. But lets look at the price tags of these systems.. in many cases these are $4000 options for the upgraded sound alone. At the end of the day, the sound system in a Corvette is probably one of the last items on the check list. Beyond that its more performance oriented than it is grand touring. And at the very least its something that just isnt that important to the average Vette buyer.
If this Bose system is better than the last one.. and the exhaust/engine note is more aggressive. I doubt you will see that many people complaining about it. One of the reasons we all know the C6 sound system lacked so much.. is that the factory non-NPP exhaust sounds like a Camry. Since you couldnt hear the wonderful sounds coming from the engine.. you were forced to listen to the Radio Shack speakers.
