C5 to C7
After seeing the video's on the C7 all I can say is WOW! This car looks awesome and it appears they improved every single aspect of the car. The C6 was not enough of an improvement over the C5 to get me to make a change but this new car has me seriously considering an upgrade.

Yeah, it's great looking, but not enough to put the C5 on Craig's List yet. My wife says I'm going to die in my C5 ... No wait ... I think she says I'll have my C5 till I die, something like that.
Maybe in a half dozen years or so ...

I love the C7, and will wait a couple of years for the bugs to be fixed and the values to drop in the used car market. There's not enough of an improvement to top my current C5 so it's going to be awhile before I change. The only thing it's got over the C5 is looks which is just a matter of taste. It's less horsepower, same entertainment level, and I already have track seats, and C6 Z06 suspension and LS7 clutch upgrades. So bascially, there's no gain for me other than blowing more cash.
And since I'm spending more for a newer forged 416 Mast Motorsports engine 615hp, I don't really see any upside to the C7 at this moment. Certainly later a used C7 will find it's way into my shop....but a lot later!

That guy was just bragging about all the mods he'd done to his C5 without wanting us to think he was bragging. Anybody with 2 eyes could see right through that...

The c6 was just a refined c5. Hell, 70%+ the c6 can be bolted onto the c5 directly. The c7 is a whole new car. Its all fresh and new. With a car this techology advanced, its probably best to wait a year or 2 to see what pops up with the bugs and problems.

Any time I've sold something I've had a passion for; guitars, amps, morotcycles, I've always ended up kicking myself. Not sure if I'd sell/trade the C5 but I wouldn't be against adding to the garage.
Of course I'll brag....
I built the engine, did most of the bodywork, done the custom interior, and installed most of the suspension, BUT did sub out the clutch job.Why do all this work and expense to just pretend it doesn't have it? That's the main reason I'm not jumping on the gotta have it now bandwagon, just saying.....
Later in a few years I will... what's the big deal? Anyone with 2 eyes can tell something bothers you?
Edited: Maybe we should just send our replies to you first so you can evaluate what I or any other person can post ....maybe get a Red Racer Stamp of approval?

That's my plan as well, especially considering all the new electronics in the C7. Plus, my timing will hopefully line up with the C7 high HP model (Z06/Z07/ZR1?).
Since my 2004 C5 convertible is still mint with low miles, I think a fixed roof, high HP C7 would make the ideal stable mate giving me the best of both worlds!
I am in this exact same boat. I bought my Z06 with bolt ons for a great price. Did a few track days, but mostly bought it as a street car to supplement my M3 track car. As is with most cars I own, I grow tired quickly and want to experience something else.
I went from a C4 6spd LT1, to the C5Z and it was a definite jump. I began to want to move to the C6Z, and started looking at the market. Knowing the C7 was around the corner, made me pause a bit.
I had a couple options....1- I had an LS7 with aftermarket heads already, and I considered just swapping that into the C5Z. 2- Supercharge my C5Z and wait for C7Z 3- Pop out an additonal 20k, move to the C6Z.
For various reasons I went with option 2. I supercharged my C5Z and making 580whp/512wtq. I have big brakes, upgraded suspension, widebody rears, c6Z wheels with 345's...it's a solid machine.
So, my plan is to wait for C7Z, sell the C5Z and my 3 series convertible I use as a summer daily and put that down on a C7Z so I can pay it off in 2 years, then maybe be ready for C7ZR1.
