All sport cars should be red and convertible .The wife loves going topless we are used to travelling big trips on our Harley so the convertible has all the room we need IMO. So when the time comes a new C7 red convertible will be next

It got to be too much for me and I could still see up throught the transparent one. With that I wanted a C7 Vert next.

But if the spread is that $5k to $7k between the two I do have another option. Get a Coupe with two tops. Rather than the painted top get the Carbon fiber one that is much lighter to remove throughout the topless season (April - November in the NorthEast) and a transparent one for the colder weather. The option for both may cost only about $1,400 to $2,150. Significantly less than the Vert bottom line.

I wait for the New York Auto Show for more input.
All the tops are carbon fiber. The only choice is painted body color, transparent or carbon fiber natural.

Isn't the transparent top polycarbonate, not carbon fiber?

I'm a convertible guy,but the coupe is WAY better looking on the C7. Plus the biggest change on the C7 is the roof. C7 vert resembles the C6 vert.

I love them both, but since both was not a choice and I am a Vert guy, I picked Convertible.

The transparent is not carbon fiber.. But I could see by reading the material some may think that.

Direct from the ordering guide:

REMOVABLE ROOF PANEL — STANDARD
A removable roof panel manufactured from carbon fiber (in the corresponding body-color) will be
standard on Corvette Stingray and includes a three-latch system for easy removal. This panel is
also lightweight and easier to remove and store. Transparent and clear-coated carbon-fiber with
body-color surround roof panels are available.

I assume the transparent is also carbon fiber because what's the point of saving weight from the C6's polycarbonate top and then adding it again to C7's, it wouldn't make sense to me????

I haven't seen transparent carbon fiber yet.

LMAO - you beat me to it. Maybe it's the "transparent aluminum" from Star Trek?

Like I said you could take it to mean carbon fibre. It is

1. Carbon fibre standard
2. Carbon fibre with body color surround optional
3. Transparent. Optional.

This should be read this way: Transparent and (clear-coated carbon-fiber with body-color surround roof panels) are available.

Not this way: (Transparent and clear-coated carbon-fiber) with body-color surround roof panels are available.

The transparent roof is not carbon fiber, nor does it have body-color surrounds.

it'll probably be very similar to the blue tinted polycarbonate of today?

Neither, I hate the tail lights. It is a Camaro that got a little out of shape. The nose looks like a Viper and the rest I cannot even try to explain.

OK, not that I got your attention, I like the coupe. Never been much of a roadster person since my first Corvette a mid-year big block. But I would not turn the roadster down.

I agree everyone should be able to run their own lives. We should just be able to do anything we want. I think we should start with speed limits, then move on to stop signs. Then we should not have to use seat belts. Also if we want to text while driving who business is that?

I prefer the coupe, by far, from C2 to C7. But I must admit that the C7 vert is very well executed.

They will probably want somewhere in the neighborhood of $7500.

Very tough choice. I've always been a vert guy. But this time might be coupe.

I don't see much change from what is happening now. $3,000-$5,000 is the range I would guess since that is what they are asking now.
