The Caddy as a chassis is another imported chassis. It's not built from the ground up.
The V6 in the caddy isn't a totally new engine either. It's an existing platform with 2 goodies put on.
Kind of understandable if you have half a brain as to why the caddy's weight and power specs are already known.

dumb post
If I told you that a block of steel weighed 7.85 g/cc and I also told you the block of steel was 2.54 cm X 2.54 cm X 2.54 cm, I really doubt it you are capable of telling me how many grams that block of steel weighs. If I asked you for it's weight in ounces, your head would explode.

Because these people have nothing to hide or be ashamed of? Just guessing here

Why would they?
I think if we all transported ourselves back to 1982, you'd all be the nuts claiming the C3 is a better car than coming C4 too.
Seriously, the caddy engine is an existing engine with turbos slapped in it. the chassis, is from Australia, just like all of the other GM sedans have been. Not exactly breaking new ground there.

I can actually picture you disputing a possibility the Earth is round because your priest assured you otherwise
Not only has GM had the 420 HP V6TT SAE certified and has released that number they have also found a pair of kitchen scales and weighed the damn 2104 CTS. They also found someone at Cadillac that knows how to use a calculator to figure how what the weight distribution is on the 2014 CTS. It's 3616 pounds with 50.3% on the front wheels and 49.7% on the rear wheels.
Sure would be nice if the Chevrolet division's chief engineer was that smart.
Funny how Chevrolet's marketing department doesn't believe that the Corvette fans want to know that information yet the Cadillac divisions' marketing department believes the CTS's fans do.
It just amazes me how much you keep making the helping of crow you're going to have to eat very soon larger and larger...
Ah the good ol, tried-and-true "reading comprehension" retort. Always a safe fallback on a message board.
OK, brobot. We'll see soon enough.
Are you contradicting GM's public disclosure via it's website that the 2014 CTS has 420 SAE certified Horsepower and that the 2014 CTS weighs 3616 pounds and that 50.3 % of that weight is on the front?
That is what my post was about. In fact I stated it quite clearly.

I'm just pointing out how silly it is the lengths you go to to try to convince yourself that 450 hp is going to be the final, SAE number.

It will be higher. That is a 100% guarantee.
He points out how silly it is to withold this number after ESTIMATED number has been around for a long time now and nothing changed since the car was supposedly PUBLICALLY intruduced to general public TWO MONTHS AGO.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
