The first year buyers will have issues maybe even a recall or two its like that with all new car platforms. A first year car is very risky second year a little less, and by the third year GM will be making the car they intended to make in the first place. You can be sure there will also be many software rewrites on the 2014s so just be prepaired to be at your dealer often.

A buyer should know going into a new generation that the chance of problems is greater than a few years into a generation. If your situation/daily routine does not fit well with a car that may need a recall or two, wait a year or two to buy.
I'll be a first year guinea pig. All I ask in return is that the car gets fixed properly by GM rather than them half-assing the fixes like they've done in the past. That is quite important to me.
I believe any issue that crops up gm will find a solution for. I've bought many new vehicles over the years..first year of a new generation and usually now a days it's just recalls or TSB s on updating electronics..
Nothing to worry about other than having the coin to purchase the car and dropping off the new car for a few TSBs ..
Got the need, got the money I suggest buying with confidence.
I agree, worthless post. Every car when a model change occurs will have some issues. Who gives a s$%t. Nothing to get worried about but I guess if you have nothing else better to do with your time at least it gives you something to talk about. The car looks great, I may or may not buy one, like the potential problems, time will tell.
Who knows. Personally I don't think there will be any serious issues. I'm confident with my first year purchase. I've had GM DI before (Cadillacs) and new model first year builds and they have been problem free.
The C7 will widen the performance gap with Porsches costing the same or even double than that of the Corvette. There will likely be jealousy from the Porsche boys to be dealt with. Their usual tactic of diverting the issue with talk about the overall "Porsche experience" is ridiculous and getting pretty old at this point. Look at what a 60 thousand dollar C7 will do to a new Porsche with the same price tag, laughable!

WTF does this have to do with this thread'd topic?
Yeah, actually the DI on the Solstice GXP we had was pretty good. No issues at all with the engine or drivetrain.
But there were tons of issues with the Solstice, mostly all being crappy material usage.
For one, both door handles came right off while trying to open the doors from the outside. Turned out they used plastic retainers for the door pulls. (And made us come back for the second door when that one broke, rather than just replacing it with the new metal retainer ahead of time.)
