Well after being at 3000 for 79 day I just cancelled my order. Worst part is we sold our 2011 Grand Sport back in June . Hope all of you that have or are waiting for your baby will enjoy to the most! Maybe 2015 will be a better experience when ordering
I can completely understand your frustration but canceling your order will only make it a much longer wait. What if your car was built and delivered on, say, November 1st. Or, for that matter, February 1st. I would expect '15s to not be out until the middle of next summer or later...
I COMPLETELY agree and understand your position. The secrecy, "chat line" lines, the complete and total breakdown of communication between GM it's dealers and its customers is an abomination. It didn't have to be this way... Those on this board that are to incompetent to understand that this has ZERO to do with "patience" and "first world problems" and "crying" and EVERYTHING to do with communicating the TRUTH about what is going on or even attempting to communicate in a meaningful way are not worth responding to. It would take very little to let people who have paid deposits know what is going on, instead they choose to put out a lame press release and take down the tracking site ONLY for Stingrays and fail to even respond to email requests from there special "team" WHAT A JOKE. It is insulting to anyone with more than a 3rd grade education which many on this board who continue to justify this stupidity clearly do not possess by repeatedly suggesting we lack patience. I know the decision was hard, kudos to you for voting with your hard earned money, enough is enough.
Understood but it is only having a negative impact on your life because you are letting the wait and impatience get to you. If it took another month, is it REALLY that big of a deal?
P.S. Mine won't get here until February... and I'm not cancelling
And when did you order? I was #1 at the dealer first allotment. first consensus and ordered #1 priority which was the first car to this dealer. Gave a sizable deposit (refundable) in May Supposedly GM/Chevy did not accept orders till the end of May. Went to 3000 July 8 and still there today with no TPW and seeing TPW's supposedly for Verts already being issued.
Those on this board that are to incompetent to understand that this has ZERO to do with "patience" ...
I disagree. It has everything to do with patience. The frustration and "aggravation" seems to me to be generated by the delivery hysteria generated on this forum.
I wasn't in the first consensus and my dealer was pretty clear that even those in the first consensus probably wouldn't see their cars until Oct 1. He also explained what impact constraints would have on that delivery date. If your dealer didn't explain that to you, then you have a gripe. If he did and you ordered with a constraint, then have some patience, it was your choice.
And there's always the "sh*t happens" factor. If it takes a few weeks longer for GM to provide the quality they promised, then again.... have some patience. I think it's going to be worth the wait.
I have to say this little tantrum has got a lot of attention .
I have decided to put up my first child for adoption! I can't get a solid answer from my wife on the due date. Worse, it took months for the doctors to even tell me if was a boy or girl. My wife and I cannot agree on a name. The whole experience has been an exercise in frustration.
I'll wait a year. Maybe the second one will be a better birthing experience.

Raider, I too have been waiting since early July and am still at 3000. I ordered from one of the top 2 dealers early in the year. I then sold my C5 to make room for the car. The dealer cannot answer why he has some later cars already built and my early order just sitting. I understand your frustration as I have considered canceling my order also. I just wonder about the people slamming you. When did they place their order and what is their status? If they were in the same situation, perhaps they would agree with you. By the way, I have decided to ignore most negative posts and wait for my first NEW Corvette.
Another reason to wait till the hype dies down. I would like to have one but the convertibles havn't even started down the line. I will not begin to formulate a deal until dealers start to stock Corvettes on their lot. It is going to be awile.
J/K Hope it all works out for you in the long run.
I decided to wait for the Z0 Whatever and not order yet. Seeing all these pretty cool C7's arriving is killing me. But it will help me save up a few more dollars to help put myself in Corvette debt.
I think he is smart. First of all this nonsense will be all gone come 2015. Second maybe he wants to see what the new z has in store when they show it in January. He will also get a finer car if he waits until 2015. He also has a chance to find out if the car is a lemon or not before he orders in 2015 because many of you folks will be crying like babies if something blows up or falls of of your 2014s later in the year. I think he's dam smart to cancel. All he can do is get a better car and more choices if he waits until 2015.
Looks like I got the emotions stured up
Just clear up a few things, Not crying over the situation at all. Fact is Oct 8 at 9:30 I will be on a table in a hospital having some hardware inserted in/on my upper spine. Recover , go back Jan 7 and have basically the same on the lower spine. No saying my wife wouldn't enjoy that FANTASTIC LOOKING/RUNNING Cyber Grey Metallic Load Stingray

Well why didn't you say all of that in your initial post?
