Great work, Glen. I'd love to see a pulled back shot of the entire interior.

all I have is my lousy iphone, so the red washes stuff out, but here you go:

Center console and wheel bezel in carbon flash

driver door in carbon flash

pass door in carbon flash

OK - here’s the update of the wet sanding to attack the orange peel. This is not something that shoots well with my iPhone cam, but trust me, the car looks 100% better with the orange peel reduced. It is still there to a minor degree, as I believe some is in the base, and I did not want to “go deep” to get rid of it.

After wetsanding with 2500/3000, here was the regimen:

polish out with foam/wool hybrid pad and menzerna FG400 on a flex rotary
fine polish with Menzerna 4500 and foam finishing pad on a griots orbital (wow, new one is much better than my 5 yr old one)
Wipe down with 50/50 ISP (alcohol/water)
Apply two coats of CarPro CQuartz UK (a bit more pure than std CQ, adds .75 - 1.5 microns of protection back on)
Wipe down with CarPro RELOAD

Overall, you have to be retired and like to do this - as I have about 24 labor hours in this makeover and several hundred $…

This is where the majority of the peel was...it now gives a more direct reflection:

and for those that wonder, at no time did I even get near "breaking thru the clear ", as all the edges were taped off and the 3000 was moderate in terms of sanding...

flag change: the red coming thru the ghosted look with Plastidip smoke is not what I wanted...-->so carbon flash + clear:

Good tip, easy mod. After I removed the emblem from the cap I used a needle nose plier to break off the tabs. I tried using a single edge razor and achieved the same results. Gorilla glue epoxy used as an adhesive. Thanks Glen.

Default Lowering your C7

Glen e,

When Lashway lowered your car, did they back off the bolts until the bolts quit turning? I'm wondering if you keep going will bolts pop out. Thanks for your help.

I'm pretty much done with the car and happy with every mod, esp the inferior painted pieces....as you may have guessed as I have said, I hate the fish but like the idea of declaring what kind of engine I have as it's the star on the car. So the fish are replaced with genuine GM approved LT1 lettering from Roger at emblem pros.com

And on the inside the badge on the engine specs completes the look- from gmpartshouse.com

Enjoy

Glen e, I went to "gmpartshouse.com" but could not find anything for a C7. How did you find the interior badge? Thanks.

Glen love watching you add a personal touch to your vette! It really looks good. I'm planing a trip over to your side of the state to meet with Eric at lashway. I noticed you added some xpel to your door sill plates. Did you do any other parts of your car? I'm thinking of stopping by Classic Touch on Plantation to see about getting my car done. Do you know these guys? Would you recommend them?

Thank you for the kind words.....

Dunno them, I use superior tech here in pompano for films/stingers and such ....I have xpel on my sills, door pockets for handles, and a few wear points on my interior painted door pieces near window switches...

Erik at Lashway is good people, I need to stop down and say hi to him.....
