Sorry if this has been answered already but I couldn't find anything about it doing a search.
I have a Battery Tender Jr. that I used on my C6 and I will use it through the battery port in the trunk of my C7. Question: How the heck can you close the hatch in order to keep the lights in the trunk from staying on? I know they should go out in about 20 minutes automatically but I never had much luck before with GM electronics and even if they did go out, 20 minutes is quite a drain on the battery.
I was coming on here to ask the same question as the OP . I bought the optional battery tender with my car from the factory . I could not figure out how to use it . I guess I will slam the trunk.....
(can't see paying $100 for something I can get locally for $29 from NAPA )
Is this the CTEK 3300? The least costly CTEK on Amazon is $67 plus $11 for the Cig adapter needed for the C7. The one from GM has the Cig adapter hard wired to the unit and the cord length is the correct length for easy use.

Same one KH doesn't know what he is talking about.

Almost too perfect for me as I have it screw mounted waist high on the front of my work bench with more than enough power cord and 12v end to reach my C7. It is so inconspicuous with the 3300 being small and the rear hatch closed I fear forgetting to disconnect it when about to take a drive.
So I made up a 6" x 11" card sign that says "CHARGING" and placed it on the windshield. Tough being over 70 sometimes.

Very good idea. I will do the same, but more for my wife. She drives the C7 sometimes and may not know it's charging at the time.
Closing the rear hatch on the power cord has been mentioned. Can't you just leave the window cracked about an inch and snake it through? Does that bother anything? I will have the car under a cover, but the cord on my quad battery tender is plenty long.

Just asking. Ralph
It may be easier to leave the door window up and route the 12v cord along the rear side of the open door closest to the quarter window. So that when you close the door the window indexes to the top. I would be concerned that critters entering my garage have easy access to the interior. Try that.

You could not start the 458 if the charger was plugged in.

On my C6 I just routed on the bottom of the door. There were notches that the cord would fit in, like two little v-grooves. One toward the front and the other toward the rear of the door. I will have to see if the C7 still have these.

Did I say anything about CTEK? No I didn't.
There are plenty of decent maintenance chargers out there that work fine and are a fraction of the cost of the one GM sells for the Vette.
On my C6 I routed the wires from the battery out the left side of the front grill. I have a quick disconnect right at the grill that allows me to...well disconnect and then tuck the wire/plug back inside the grill area.
I've even managed to forget to disconnect it and back out of the garage...the quick disconnect simply separated.
I don't know if that's possible with the C7, but that's what I will try doing.
