What happens if you are car-jacked and you take the FOB with you?

Of course not, but the chances that a carjacker will simply take your car and leave are getting smaller with every occurence in our area. I'm not sure where in NC you are, but in the Memphis metro area, which my MS town is a suburb of, has at least one murder per day, and I would say that, if you can believe the news, about 20% are carjackings or muggings.

I would have trouble if I left the pistol in my IWB holster at 4:30, but I have found a place to rest it where the grip is easily accessible with the way I normally sit in my vette. When I enter or exit, it only takes a few seconds to shift position.

No the Key FOB. Does the car stop if out of range of the signal.

Nope. Just need the FOB to start it. Once started, it stays running with or without the FOB within distance

(by the way, rcallen knew what you meant)

I once ran into a brand new C6 owner at an area highway rest stop - he had never owned a Vette before and was stuck at the rest area. Seems he started his C6 and was called into the house by his wife. While inside, he laid the FOB down, forgot about it and they both drove off. They stopped at this rest area - 100 miles from home - and shut the car down. Getting back into the car to leave and.... well....you know what happened.

(called a friend to break into their house, retrieve the FOB and bring it to 'em. Hope he was a GOOD friend! )

I have been driving convertible Corvette's since I was 18. I have lived in Michigan, Buffalo and Florida. I know that I have to be aware of my surroundings just as I am in my daily driver.

I love my convertibles!

And he will have this song playing on his Radio too when the hijacker comes. Even the lyrics are fitting.

I said, shotgun
Shoot 'em 'fore he runs, now
Do the jerk, baby
Do the jerk, now
Hey!

Put on yo' red dress
And then you go downtown, now
I said, buy yourself a shotgun, now
We gonna break it down, baby, now
We gonna load it up, baby, now
A-then you shoot him 'fore he run, now

I said, shotgun
Shoot 'em 'fore he run, now
Do the jerk, baby
Do the jerk, now
Hey!

(sax & instrumental)

Shotgun
Shoot 'em 'fore he run, now
Do the jerk, baby
Do the jerk, now
Yeah!

Put on yo' high-heel shoes
I said, we goin' down here
An listen to 'em play the blues
We gonna, dig potatoes
We gonna, pick tomatoes

I said, shotgun
Shoot 'em 'fore he run, now
Do the jerk, baby
Do the jerk, now
Yeah!

I said it's, Twine time
I said it's, Twine time
I said it's, Twine time

'Hey!
'Wailin' out the blues!'

Hilarious!
