Is this a universal issues with all C7's? What exactly should I look for?

OK. Just got back from the dealer with the update. I have only driven the car a few miles so this review may be a little incomplete. I have attached the bulletin below. 4 lighting modules were updated. BCM-HVAC-RADIO and IPC.

1)The Instrument Cluster is much brighter. Very Nice. In daytime mode, you can not adjust the display luminescence level to the left of the steering wheel. This may have been the way it used to be as well (I never tested it in daytime before). Regardless, no issues whatsoever in daytime conditions.

2) It started to rain, so my lights toggled on and the display switched over to night mode. The transition was evident. It is 100% better than the old murky low light display. They did a very good job in recalibrating the brightness levels. Much, much better
The light level **** to the left of the steering wheel is controllable in Night conditions and controls the Instrument Cluster as well as the Infotainment Screen smoothly and simultaneously. It has a wide range of movement all the way to complete dark / off.

3) The update will cause you to lose all of your radio presets. I spent a lot of time putting together and renaming 20 presets a few weeks ago. No problem...I will redo them tonight.

4) Your radio EQ and Balance will default back to normal.

5) My Vehicle Lighting preferences changed. No big deal. Already reset my Exit Lighting to my preferred mode (off).

6) Software update now indicates 23141791

7) My Driver Mode programming, HUD and Pocket Gauges had to be reset and Linked. No problem, took 1 minute when I got home.

Hope this helps you guys. I am very happy with the update. Nicely done!

Thanks for the nice update! It's good to see GM making these corrections in a fairly timely manner.

My car will be built in the next couple weeks, so I'm hoping it will already have the new firmware.

From what I was told, any cars coming off the line recently have already been updated.

Mine's done too. Just like BPhillyc7 posted above, the cluster is noticeable brighter. I couldn't adjust the brightness in day mode either, and I lost all my radio presets. No big deal at all. I kinda expected that.

Mine is being done as we speak,I knew by the tis link someone posted last week that it was available, but no bulletin was assigned yet.So today I had an unfortunate episode of DBS... so after jump starting and getting to dealer...another fellow c7 owner( not on our forum) was ahead of me in for service on none other then the dash dimming issue at dusk....they brought the Corvette Guru out who I know for years to speak to the c7 owner and the tech proceeded to tell him that's the way it is supposed to work...lol

This is where I had to interrupt and give him the info from this great forum, before I was in my rental...the tech came to me and said its sad that guys like you on the Corvette forum know more about the c7 then even our knowledge base will let us bring up....he told me after I insisted and even told him what 4 modules needed updating he called the corvette action center and they told him" that customer is exactly right" and here is where you go for the software...
The fellow c7 member who uses his car as dd as I do...could not be happier...his car was complete as I was driving away took about 20 minutes to update the 4 modules.....

Hopefully I will find out what caused my car to be stone dead this am....

O ONE MORE THING...if you ever have to pop the door with the emergency release in the trunk do not close the door until after you jump start and either lower the window or re index the windows......I now have a nice chip from the glass on the a pillar molding....part ordered....

UGHH things could always be worse!

Enjoying the hell at of this car

Just to be clear, the windows don't have to be re-indexed if the battery hasn't been discharged or disconnected. Using the door release in the trunk, or the one on the floor by each door, doesn't in and of itself require window re-indexing. It's the loss of power that creates the problem.

I am curious, when you move the dimmer all the way clockwise, do your interior lights go on? My car is stuck in bright mode all of the time and my dimming **** does nothing, not even turning on the interior lights. It's better then getting dim so I haven't brought it into the dealer yet. Thanks.

It does seem odd that the issue was noticed right away by early adopters, and unlikely it went unnoticed throughout all the testing. I'm thinking that the software must have been changed right when production was starting up.

Just a heads up, my service tech downloaded and installed this update on a customers radio and bricked it. Customer going home in a rental while troubleshooting begins with GM tomorrow. Update failed during programming and radio will no longer boot. Probably an isolated case but just an FYI.

Slappy3243, Yes, if I move my dimmer all the way clockwise, the interior lights go on. I suggest taking your car to the dealer to address your issue now that the light dimming problem has been fixed.

I agree with CM. It's very likely that a last minute software update just when production was starting is the culprit.

Correct if you use the emergency in trunk or on floor and the car has power it will index the same as the regular door open buttons...The problem is with a dead battery the window cannot index...

Just picked up my car, somehow the dealership finally figured it out after all the back and forth. Wow what a difference, now my car is complete

You know what your right it probably was ...if you check using that tis link that someone provided in this thread...you will see it that a lot of modules say" software for start of production"

Curious what aspect of the fixes cause you to lose favorites as this does not seem related to the dimming dash? is it? or are there other fixes not yet discussed here....thanks.
