Could one of you answer a question for me? Does the dimming **** in your C7 light up like the other gauges and buttons do? Mine doesn't. I wonder if is part of the reason why it doesn't do anything, including turning on the interior lights. It's like it's not hooked up or something.

Yes, turning it all the way to the right should turn on your interior lights day or night time. Sounds like it's not functioning correctly for you. Sorry

I really don't think you have the answer here, as you always put what you know up in the OP...but do we specifically know all the things that are mod/changed in this update?

I suspect we are going to get a huge amt of people that claim this or that works better, when the code did not change that feature at all...

it's the natural way updates affect consumers.....

Glen. I agree with you. I think the four updates where for lighting modules within the four systems I stated in the original posts. If someone's heater is working, god bless...but I don't think it was the cluster software. Although my heated seats felt warmer today .

Regardless, good luck to all. The update is well worth it. 45 minutes should be all it takes.

Today I had a real good look at my dash ripped out to install a hard wired Radar Detector. Wow...I'll post pictures tomorrow. Looks and operates great now with only a small cable coming through the back of the rear mirror.

Hello everyone!

I wanted to clarify a few things. If your car has recently been produced, you are all set. You do not need to worry about the update.

BPhillyc7 got his update done the day after the repair was announced to the dealerships. This fix has only been out a week. I offered to call your dealerships so that there is no confusion concerning the dim DIC. I am sorry if your dealership has not heard of this particular repair as it has just been released.

This is not a recall, so there will not be a notice sent in the mail. If you would like this update performed, please speak to your dealership or to us through PM.

Thanks and sorry for any miscommunication on my part!

I had mine done today - the dealer wasn't aware of the issue, but I had printed BPhillyC7's post, and that gave them everything they needed. I picked the car up a little after 5:00, and drove home at dusk - a BIG improvement!

Question Kelly, do any of the sotware updates change the way the seat memory works, i.e. do you still have to hold in the button, like I and others do to advance to a setting, at least with a stndard shift? In the C6 you just touched it once-has this been updated?

My dealer tried to update mine today and it is totally locked up. Waiting on GM service to come up with a solution tomorrow.

Thanks, will wait to see if there are more before I visit the dealer. The dash doesn't bother me as I mostly look at the Head-up display-it's great.

Hopefully they kept power to the vehicle while performing the update. My dealer stressed that they always do so as otherwise it can cause assorted problems.
