I know you didn't take that first picture yesterday ...... At least I can drive around my circle drive ........
Look at this from a practical standpoint. Chrome can be what everyone wants. When it's clean, it looks great. When it starts to get dirty, it's silver. Of course when it's completely covered in brake dust, you get black. What's not to love

I just called the Ellis Co. sheriff office. The majority of our roads down here are fine. It's just the over passes on I-35 and the bridge decks which have glaze. NW Ellis county west of Midlothian on US 287 headed to Mansfield is the only trouble spot still. I'm going to use the wife's fwd Hyundai as a pre runner from Maypearl to Waxahachie. If it's that good, I'll take the Vette out for a short drive later today. Now back to the chrome wheel topic.
Chrome wheels do not belong on a sports car unless you also have seat covers and fuzzy dice. You will not find them offered as an option on the higher end sports cars. If you want chrome wheels you most likely have white belts and shoes in your wardrobe.
I have had horrible service with chrome wheels. For the long term, if you actually drive the car year round where it gets cold, they always pit from brake dust. road grime and salt. Hoping they come out with a polished aluminum wheel in the near future because, for me, they are the best. I hate the black wheel style. For what's available now, I'd go painted even though I think the painted is a little too bright silver for my taste.

The chrome/paint/black debate will never be settled when comparing two cars side by side....now stroll both cars through a parking lot at 5mph and you don't even notice the non-chromed wheel car....it just fades in the background while the chrome wheeled car wheels just pop to beyond belief with the sparkle of a mesmerizing kaleidoscope effect (oh wait....I guess if you're under 40 you probably don't even know what a kaleidoscope is )!

And that's the exact problem for me...chrome too gaudy .... And I'm 62....
Chrome wheels at $2000 are way over priced! Chrome will pit and if you scrape a curb they can not be repaired by the wheel doctor. On some exterior colors the chrome wheels look better than the painted. For myself, I would stick with the painted wheels, especially on the Z51 wheels. I have to admit though, the chrome does look nicer on the non Z51 wheel. INMHO...the non Z51 wheel is very bland looking. I think the designers could or should have come up with something better!
I think I will stick with the stock Z51 Silver wheels. If down the road I need a change I will have 2000 toward some after market wheels or get the stockers powder coated. Thanks for the ideas.
