So I was in getting into my car in a tight spot and when I went to sit down, my belt caught the plastic corvette logo on the the back of the drivers seat and the effing thing snapped. Called a local dealer....$57!?!?! for a replacement one. I think I want to throw up. I've had the car 2 freaking weeks.

Ouch. I've heard of these emblems ripping shirts when exiting the vehicle as well. Only a matter of time before the aftermarket comes up with something to replace them with a more clothes friendly emblem.
Are we talking about the same belts here...as in...for your pants? How the hell did it get caught on the emblem by the headrest? Do you get in your car by jamming your *** on the headrest and than sliding all the way down?

Whoever parked next to me was so damn close the door couldn't open much. I had the top off so I took my shoes off and went over the door onto the seat and slid down.
Went and looked at the seat emblems on my 3LT and they were recessed to almost flush with the leather back rest surface. Pressing in the leather near the emblem edge could have that result if something catches under it then pulls away. I will try to take precaution to prevent a similar occurrence in my C7. Yes that's an "Ouch!" for the OP.
Seriously, I was wondering when something like this was going to happen.. Early on, before production began, there were those pre-production models shown at a few car shows. I remember a few pics showed seats without the emblem (GT seats - not Comp seats)
My thought was that someone had pried them out of the seat leather.
djseto, I certainly hope you can get this fixed ASAP!

Haha thanks for the clarification, that makes a lot more sense. I had this hilarious mental picture of you bending over and hopping back into your car *** first.
In any case, my advice is just to pay the 57 dollars. You paid 70 grand for your car so I certainly don't think 57 bucks will set you far back enough to make you want to "throw up." To the guy who said to get it replaced under warranty that's absurd. Clearly there was no way it would have snapped without unusual physical contact, and I think we can give the seat designers a pass for not expecting people to get into their cars by hopping the door.
I'm assuming you're at least moderately wealthy to be driving a brand new vette, you'll forget about the 60 bucks in a day or two I promise.
Well now it gets even worse. I called two other dealers who sent me images of the parts catalog for that seat. They said it's not sold alone it's part of the $300+ seat cover. They said the dealer I spoke to more than likely quoted the wrong part. Really? $300+ for a piece of plastic that probably costs 2 cents in China to make?
