Yes, I realize that because I have three other vehicles hooked up with them right now, but I want it to show up on the window sticker and if I'm correct about this with the factory tender, I will only need stick the cord into the lighter socket. With a store bought tender, I would have to connect it at the battery, which means I would have to open the rear deck lid to plug in.
There are charge ends available from Deltran that plug into the lighter/power socket. Suggest; Battery Tender Jr., Mfg. Deltran.
Highway 61: Be aware that the only outlet that will charge 24/7 is the one in the trunk. The others shut down with the key off. You can but CTEK Multi US 3300 for $25-$40 w/cig adapter all over the web.

Yes I realize that, but if you don't order the factory tender, will there be the wire going from the battery to the lighter/power socket?
Highway, whatever battery tender you use will provide charging current back to the battery through the same wires that power the socket from the battery. Just be sure to plug into the "unswitched" outlet in the trunk as was suggested earlier in the thread. The "switched" outlets elsewhere in the vehicle are disconnected when the ignition is shut off.
Wonder why it is shown as an $15 option then, if it's required the dealer give it to you in front plate required states?
Does the VKE front plate shown on your window sticker?
Does not show on my window sticker but both plate holders were in the trunk of the car when it was unloaded from the carrier. We were able to be at the dealer when the truck pulled in.
It is a $15 option for people who live in states that do not require front plates.

You can purchase the "lighter socket" adapter for about $6 to connect to an over the counter battery tender. Also, the only socket in the car that you can use to charge is the one in the cargo area. The socket in the cockpit area is wired through the ignition.

It's a battery tender to keep your battery charged up when you don't drive the car very much. If you drive your car at least once a week, you probably don't need it.

Sounds then like a store battery tender will work just as good.
I still want to get the factory tender so it shows up on the window sticker and I'll probably buy another store tender to use.

I plug my Battery Tender into the lighter socket and run the cord out to get AC power. You will need to do that with the $100 factory option. You still need to connect to AC somehow.
