Default Allocation question

Do dealers have a set amount of allocations for each, Z51's and Non-Z51's or an X amount of allocations that could be used on either or?

If they can be used for either, with constraints on the Z51’s, would a dealer use one of their allocations on an Non-Z51 before someone who wanted the Z51?

A dealer gets allocations for models. A Z51 is a different model than a non-Z51 as evidenced by it being a separate starting choice on the Build website. It is not a box you can check like the Camaro 1LE or Mag ride or trans type.

Therefore, they get separate allocations for each. I am not sure if it is broken down by 1LT,2LT or 3LT though. I bet it is.

Absolutely. They must use an allocation or they lose it. If they can't get a Z51, they will go with a non-Z51. That is why there are non-Z51's sitting on some of the larger dealer's lots.

Glen, so today because of the constraints on the Z51, I can assume that the % of Z51's is getting lower each month?

no, you can't assume anything, as we don't know the supplier plans...

Yes, that's makes sense. Do you know when the last orders will be accepted to get a 2014 built? I saw someone say on one of the threads that the 2015's can be ordered in May. That seems early.

Right now I'm thinking of ordering the following, but would like to wait until mid April to do so;

1YY07 Base, Stingray Coupe $51,000
Destination Fee $995
1LT Equipment Group $0
GBV Cyber Gray Metallic $0
701 Adrenaline Red $0
MEP 7 Speed Manual Transmission $0
NPP Dual-Mode Performance Exhaust $1195
SB3 Body Color Wing Spoiler (LPO – dealer installed) $730
BV4 Plaque, Personalized $200
ERI Battery Protection Package $100
VK3 License Plate Bracket, Front $15
Total Vehicle Price $54,235

You might want to save $100 and not order the Battery Protection. From what I understand it's just a Battery Tender.

License plate bracket is no charge if required by state law. I am sure that if you live in a on plate state you do not really want to put one on the front of the car.

Dealers receive allocations as agreed when they complete the consensus (agreement) process. Each week dealers receive a specific number of allocations from which to place sold and stock orders. The preliminary order requests may be subject to constraints...ie Z51 package, exposed carbon fiber roof, etc

If I understand this, you saying that dealers really don't know now many allocations they will get from their completed consensus?

What I'm wondering is, will a dealer be willing to work with me more on the price because I am willing to order one without constraints?

I think that is correct for most other GM cars that get a $1 piece of plastic, but this is the non-bolt on (VK3) Front License Plate Bracket I believe. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Yes, that is what I need because this will only be driven once a week on average during the summer and in storage from November until May.

I got both front brackets in the car we picked up the other day. One is for states that have a height requirement and the VK3 fits in the grill. I am not installing either. If I have to I will install the VK3.

You can purchase a good battery tender anywhere from $25 to $75. Why pay $100 for the logo.

Yes, I realize that because I have three other vehicles hooked up with them right now, but I want it to show up on the window sticker and if I'm correct about this with the factory tender, I will only need stick the cord into the lighter socket. With a store bought tender, I would have to connect it at the battery, which means I would have to open the rear deck lid to plug in.

Wonder why it is shown as an $15 option then, if it's required the dealer give it to you in front plate required states?

Does the VKE front plate shown on your window sticker?

Thanks to your threads, I found out about the non-Z51 type spoiler which I like better than the Z51 type and one of the other reasons I'm willing to go without the Z51 package.
