Default 2LT Motion sensor - how's it work?

I have been thru the sales guide and manual and can't figure this out. My motion sensor works once I hit the switch off and then on.....but not when I just walk away from the car. Any ideas?

Motion sensors are where? In mirror?

Motion sensor is for inside the car. If you have the top off, it's suppose to warn you if someone were to try and take something out of your car or try to open the door from the inside. Any movement in or around the car should set it off is my understanding of how it works...

And according to page 2-17 of the manual, it also has an inclination sensor to monitor ,movement of the vehicle.

When I lock the Car using the Fob, the Motion Sensor is activated.

I had the Car locked with the Windows down. Not thinking, I tossed an envelope through the window onto the passenger seat and my Horn started beeping. My first reactions was WTH happened, then I realized what I did to set it off.

I guess it works pretty well. I have no idea where the Sensor is located though. I'm guessing the center top of the Dash.

My motion sensor kicks in also when the car auto locks after I exit it. I know it works because my radar detector fell off the window due to a crappy suction cup mount and the alarm went off.

I apparently slept through the alarm, but the car was nice enough to tell me there was an intrusion attempt in the morning.

Don't know where the sensor is.

Default Garage lift causes alarm

I have a garage car lifter for extra car storage. I put my C7 on the lift and started raising it and before it got 2 feet off the ground, the alarm went off. I disabled it with my remote, but next time I'll remember to push the button next to the "Hatch" button under and to the left of the steering column to turn off the motion detector when I lift the car.

I thought I read that you can turn the feature off. Is that not the case?

Yes, see above.

There are two sensors on the panel that houses the interior lights. They are small holes on either side of the panel.

Don’t know where they are but when I jacked up the car to put on my skid pad protectors, before the wheel came off the ground the alarm went off! Forgot that would happen!

My 70yr old mother was visiting so I took here out for a drive in mine and stopped to get gas. It auto locked once I got out and started pumping. She started messing around with something in there and off goes the alarm.

Then today I had the same thing happen to me with the radar detector falling off because of the crappy passport suction cup which must have set it off again. When I came out it warned me I had a theft attempt.

What screen do you access the auto lock feature? I had this on my C6, but can seem to find it on the C7.

They call it Passive Locking in the owner's manual.

From the Mylink home screen you select:

Settings->Vehicle->Remote Lock, Unlock, Start->Passive Door Lock

Passive Door Lock

This feature can be turned on or off,
or can be used to select feedback
when using the button on the driver
door to lock the vehicle. See
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation on page 2-3.
Select Off, On with Horn
Chirp, or On.

I have a Passport Max and the new "Sticky Mount" fell off twice when parked and hung by the power cord. Concerned that if it came off when I was driving it might hit the dash or floor, I made a tether to hold it if it happens again. Escort actually sent me a new Sticky Mount, which is different. Not sure I like it as well, but if it happens again I’ll try it.
I have a PDF of the mounting and the new tether on my web site:

Is this feature on the convertible also? Will it work with the top down?

So it seems my motion sensors dont work. Weather i lock it with the fob or autolock when I walk away, I had my girlfriend test things and no motion was detected, also she was able to reach in and open the center console and also press the button to make the screen go down in the dash. She could not unlock the doors or open the glove box though. I do have a 2LT and have this feature and also have confirmed the button is not in disabled mode. Any thoughts for me? This is unfortunate as I was hoping to keep my small carry firearm behind the screen but if anyone can walk up and press the button without me or the key present and it just opens for them then that just plain sucks!!

Doesn't work with the Top off. There was another Thread about this.

There is a switch button inside one of the guide holes for the Removable Top in the Windshield Header. When you remove the Top, the button disengages and the Intrusion Alarm is off. I guess they didn't want the Alarm to go off when an errant Leaf falls off a Tree and lands inside the Car.

You can override it by placing one of those Plastic Wall Anchors inside the hole to engage the switch button. Someone here came up with that idea, so the interior of the Car will be secure with the Top off as well.
