Mud flaps
Installed GM splash guards today. Why weren't these on my car from the jump? Essentially the same part just a half inch wide of extra plastic on each corner. Maybe 4 sq in of material that cost a dime in China max.

Because they can sell them as accessories at $120 (discounted price) per set.

Do they seem to actually help with stopping road rash on the rear quarters and rockers?

Yes. May not totally eliminate it, but sure cuts down on the damage.

I already have the new guards (got 'em from GmPartsHouse) but plan on also doing a clear bra on those areas as well.
Now all I need is my car!

I bet when you figure in the additional assembly line steps to install X labor costs = 4 expensive parts the the majority of buyers would not appreciate or want to pay for.

I've heard: undo one bolt, slide out the old part, slide in the new part, replace bolt. Is that it? Sound too easy for a Chevy part install...

Where do you get the GM splash guards. I've looked for them with no luck.

Is that bolt a 10mm by any chance?
When I go to pick up my C7, I want to install the new guards before driving off and guess I should bring the correct size socket

Same install. Part is only a little larger than what comes on car. No extra cost incurred.

Going by my experience with my C6, 7mm was my other choice
