Used a Valentine for over a decade until recently the V1 began going off on the these newer aces with collision avoidance on K band. Valentine is addressing it & has plans for some additional products & updates to the v1 that will put it back at the top... I hope.
I needed something now & something discreet so I went with the 9500ci & put the screen in the mirror. It's seemless discreet & just as good as the v1 but with Lidar shifting & better logic for false signals, very rarely does it go off with a LEO close by...

How do you put the screen in the mirror??? Where is the 9500ci located?
The 9500ci is a completely stealth detector. There is nothing to mount in the windshield. You have front sensor that gets mounted up under the front bumper skin, a control box that is usually mounted under the dash someplace and, the LED indicator display which in this case is built into the mirror and lastly the small little control interface that has buttons to control the radar. Optional are laser/lidar diffusers which mount to the front and rear of the vehicle.
I have installed the escort 9500 ci, which is the one they install behind the grill and back fender, expensive at about $1400 plus another 500-600 for the install, but knock on wood, ticket free for 20 years. Only visible component is a small display they can virtually mount anywhere in the car, love it. It's always on and never seen.
I have to agree. The most advanced, the best for a stealth install... but unfortunately also the costliest. That said, mine has saved me a number of times.
If you want the best performing detector, so far, there are only three: the Escort Redline, the Beltronics STi-R+ and the Valentine 1.
The Redline when set up correctly gives the longest range both on and off axis.
The STi-R+ is up there with the Redline but is a remote mount. It is harder to install, is a more stealthy install, and costs more. It also needs to be set up correctly.
The V1 has nearly the sensitivity of the other two on-axis. However, with it's arrows it does give the driver more situational awareness. It is the cheapest of the three even when you buy the V1C bluetooth connection (you want this to work with the YaV1 app on an Android device or the V1C LE to work with an iPhone). It is not immune to be detected by the latest versions of radar detector detectors. The other two are immune. Therefore, the V1 is not suitable in VA.
My daily drive to work is 17 miles and I use my "Redline Escort". Its constantly going off with false alarms- it drives me crazy. Whatever you buy don't buy one.

Do you have it updated to configure with band segmentation?
