I just purchased a set of Gorilla wheel locks from APEX MOTOR SPORTS
They come in chrome or black . $49 for a set of 20 in the chrome finish.

Chevrolet/GM sells a set that is actually made by McGard. They are machined to weigh the same as the lug nut they replace {important for wheel balance }. My dealer installed a set for free before I took delivery.

The Gorilla locks are the first I've used since the early nineties. The ones I had at the time had issues with then stripping . I don't remember the brand but I was a little apprehensive using wheel locks again . A number of forum members indicated that they are using them .Spoke to one individual who has been using the Gorilla locks for ten years with no problems .

Are these the same as what Patrick sells at GMPartsHouse for $33.00?

A couple of forum vendors sell the Gorilla locks, either the set of 4 or the set of 20 in chrome or black. Check out the C7 Vendor for Sale section.

11 Vettes never had a problem with theft at the same residence anyway and also never used locks well once and they stripped so I never used them again - do not remember the brand, but might want to re-think that with these baby's, going to have dash /nav light dimming software update this Friday going to run this by the service manager, see what they have to offer.

I stopped by Discount Tire and he ordered a set of Gorilla locks for me in black. Four lugs and one lock for each wheel $49 plus tax. I did not care for chrome lug nuts on my black wheels. Also had them on my C6, no problems.

McGard are what I have used for 10 years after I had another brand strip on my truck. As you note, that is what GM sells for more money under their name. A number of folks sell them, just put the part number in google.

Default not cheap

Wheel locks if they work will cost far more than the purchase price. A determined thief will destroy the car to get the wheels. He has already decided that the risk of going to jail is worth the effort. I want him to take the wheels and do as little collateral damage as possible. That is why I have insurance. I'll get new wheels so take 'em. Plus they are impossible to sell. Mine only fit two cars C6/7s. An even smaller subset would buy stolen wheels. Use the money taking momma to dinner.

This thinking is wrong on so many levels.

First, these are the ones to get. They look good and will discourage any thief.

He may destroy the car to get it off the ground if it's an easy target.

Have you ever seen a car with no wheels on cinder blocks if you are lucky? I'm sure they are going to be very gentle in lifting it and setting it back down.

That is why I have insurance.
Actually that's why I have wheel locks so I don't have to go through the joy of replacing my stolen wheels and fixing the damage that they have done to my car.

Wouldn't the motion detector set off the alarm if someone tried to steal the tires?

What's to prevent a thief from purchasing a set of these locks and having the socket to steal other wheels?
