Replaced center cap with "Stingray" ones, which are mostly black..
Just got, but have not yet installed 20 black Gorilla lock/lug nuts...
I am removing the fish and "Corvette" script and ordered Carbon Flash crossed flags from RPI since they are indented and can't be removed without leaving a stupid looking hole.....
Also just ordered their side and back reflector blackout kit....
I don't have a problem with the 3d brake light in the spoiler...it is mostly blacked out.....
The only color that is going to be left on the car is the red tail/brake lights...
However, the 4 red light lens covers will annoy me....
Yes, I have seen replacement lenses that are dark, but problem is
(aside from possible police excuse to pull over) is that some dim-bulb
who rear ends you at a stop light will claim he couldn't see your brake lights! With what I've seen so far, that would be an excuse that might work...
Has anyone found a way to black out the rear lenses in the daytime, but, let them be bright at night, or when you apply brakes during daylight (like the cover on the 3d brakelight in the spoiler)?
I've done everything single thing you have, and also looking for a way to black out the rear lights. I've read threads stating the same thing you are (your fault if an accident), which is holding me back. Some have stated that the Z06 lights are blacked out from the factory, so they must be legal. Perhaps the lights are different? May be an option to swap those out next year.
Other than that, all I've seen is 1 vendor selling an acrylic overlay, and others just removing them and blacking them out.
I just came across these the other day and they look like a nice option. Thinking seriously about ordering them for my car that will be here in a few weeks.
Those are the acrylic ones I was talking about. They have had them for pre-order for quite some time, and started at $99. Keeps saying no release date. I'd be hesitant to order since they have been collecting on them for so long without giving any indication when they will ship.

I found those guys through eBay and initially inquired about the blackout lens kit on there. The guy that e-mailed me back said they would be ready in 3-4 weeks and that I should get locked in at the $169 price now before they go up on release. I'm hesitant to pre-order, however, if they've been promising for a long time and not delivering.

Yeah, they sound very shifty.....price is outrageous also....pass...
I wouldn't mind paying the price if I knew they were actually going to deliver. It would be nice if there was another vendor out there offering a similar product and I can't for the life of me figure why nobody else has yet. The car has been out for around 7 months now so that's more than enough time to bring a product like this to the market.

I love the smoke Z06 reveal lights but the latest yellow one at BJ were clear.
i interpret their add to mean they are not yet being produced.
The guy that responded to my inquiry said they'll be available in 3-4 weeks, but based on other member's comments here I'm wondering how reliable this operation really is. I'd buy a set in a heartbeat if I knew they were going to deliver so hopefully something will come of this very soon.
I had the displeasure to get behind a some knucklehead off the parkway the other day who was driving some silver and modded SUV with blacked out tail lights and I almost ran into his rear end. You couldn't see his brake lights in the sunshine. Really pissed me off.
The only reason I am even considering the ones from GS Creations is because they say light output is not diminished. Unfortunately, however, there's no way of actually proving that without seeing them in person.

I agree with you Foxer, the ones that not only black out but block the lights are no good for the reason you just stated. Was hoping someone had come up with something that looked smoky or black when lights not on or brake not applied, but allowed sufficient light to go through so that they could still be seen when used. Maybe just doesn't exist, if not, will just leave alone.

If you ever get them, please let us know if they work as advertised!

I ordered mine on Jan 8th, still waiting. I just asked them for another update. Here was their last update on March 20th.
Hello,
We are back with what we hope is the last update we will have to give you until your C7 Taillight blackouts ship. We have all the lens covers molded, and our hand cut covers fit perfect. What we have left is to program our CNC to cut each lens out PERFECTLY just as we were able to do by hand. Programing, cutting , and testing is the time consuming part as these lights have some VERY difficult angles. Once we get this locked in we will be able to get all orders out ASAP. We will once again test each lens the CNC cuts out before we release these to you and the public.*
We know this has been a long wait, trust us we value your time and willingness to stick with us in this process. Thank you for your advanced order once again, enjoy the pictures. Oh one last thing, you will notice the price just went up again to $169. Each time we get closer to getting them done the price will go up till the target MSRP is reached. Be happy you were able to get in when you did!
Just got this response back from them regarding the light output:
Correct, this lens will be just like our C6 lens and let the most light still come out. You will be hard to tell which side had the covers on if you installed two and left two factory when you hit the brakes.
The installation will be a snap, remove the tape backing and stick on. It will take you less than 5 mins.
Just got an email from them. They said it will be about 3 weeks before these are ready to ship.
I e-mailed them again just to see what they said in terms of time frame and got the same 3-4 week response that I received last week. I don't think I'll place an order for these until people actually start receiving them.
