I took the stingrays off the side and used Goo Gone and WD40 to get the adhesive off. It still didn't come off easy using a rag and also a plastic squeegee used to apply tint or vinyl.

3M Adhesive Remover. i pulled all badges off and the 3M product is what kills that adhesive. spray on and scrape the majority off with a credit card, or DL, like you are planing a piece of wood, almost flat to the surface with just a tad of pressure. this will help get the goop off. after that, a few sprays and wipes with a DRY microfiber that you are ok with throwing away should do it.

goo gone was DEFEATED by my badges and didn't help at all. complete waste of time. i spent over one hour cleaning up the rear script with goo gone and 15 mins knocking the stingrays and all adhesive off with the 3M stuff.

I've not done this and have no actual experience........but on other similar projects a blow dryer to heat the goo and then apply the chemical seems to work well together.

I have Carbon Flash front & rear corvette logos on order. Are the factory badges just stuck on with adhesive, or do they have pins & speednuts??

Double back tape all ready applied - just pull the covering and stick it down be careful to place in on perfect - practice a bit as once you put it down sticks like crazy

I had no luck with 3m remover - goo be gone worked best for me - didn't try WD40 - keep soaking it little by little it will come off, but did have a hard time getting the last little bit of clear adhesive off but as I was putting new ones back on it was not a big deal.

I used fishing line but it does cut your finger so that was not a lot of fun - tried gloves but that didn't work.

Wrap two Popsicle sticks with the fishing line between and make a "saw"- no finger problems

I understand it worked for you, I have many things I've done but don't publish them as others here might not have the luck I had. So I try to just publish things that anyone will have good luck with.

Glad your a screwdriver guy, keep at it....

You're old school - speednuts went away about 20 years ago. Welcome to plastic and doublesided tape.

I did both my flag and lettering. I used my fingernail for the black foam and rubbing alcohol to get glue off. Took 10 minutes though.
