Got snuffed
Anyway, don't take offense. But you shouldn't make fun of them, either. I have a friend who is pushing 80, probably can't hear very well bcause of all the firefights he went through, but he still shows up a car club events and puts most of the young guys on the trailer. And if you made fun of him, he's a black belt karate instructor, so he might slap you around a bit, if you get too sassy.

Could have been a rental car, maybe Hertz was out of Malibus.
Well you would think I slapped their mama or something equally as offensive. I guess I did not look the part to them, I just shook my head and thought "what a couple of *****" and walked on. People like them are the reason some car lovers get a bad rap. oh well ...
also, note that as the body ages, it falls apart. everything functions less effectively. they are no more responsible for this than you are for your IQ, whatever it is. i am going through that myself now--early stages. its the most incredibly depressing thing that you can imagine--to watch your abilities deteriorate, and to know that its only getting worse. carpe diem, youngsters. and do it today. all you eventually have are memories of who and what you were ("the boss" is right--bruce, to those who dont know him). at least make them worth remembering. im not saying live on the edge, or take unnecessary risks. not at all--unless you want to.
my advice [yea, i know you didnt ask for it] is to travel to as many places as you can. take an african photographic safari (kenya and tanzania are great), go to machu pichu, hike the incan trail, golapagus islands (we saw the 1/4 hour "migration" of the baby sea turtles to the sea--once a year, and watched the sea birds swoop down and eat them ALL before they made it--about 15 of us [strangers], broke out crying and hugging each other as it sunk in!), drive the southern island of new zealand (and meet the friendliest people on the planet), drive through the italian riviera, south of france, the greek islands are awesome and full of history, drive your C7 across mexico, from puerta vallarta, thru guadalahara, mexico city, up the mountain to taxco. and do it before youre too old. we did it in our 30's and 40's. now we couldnt do it at all. or, drive your corvette through the middle east! but dont end up grumpy, sitting at a rest stop on the super highway of life. THIS IS YOUR FATE, unless you choose to proactively change it.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
LOL He said they were an older couple not a couple who snuck out of the old age home. When trying to guess at an answer, I always use Occam's razor. I suspect that the OP encountered a couple who aren't friendly. The purchase of a Corvette doesn't transform unfriendly people into friendly people, but it may transform unfriendly people into happy, unfriendly people.
I was disappointed in their behavior as people in the genuine lack of courtesy to someone else - could have even been you they would have snuffed that day. Its really of no consequence as I will never see them again and even if I did I am the type person who would approach them again just to observe the response.
I just regret the image thy projected is that corvette owners are snobby - which not all of us are (or any other brand for that matter)
but thank you for input
They looked dead at me and said "Oh? paused glanced me head to toe , said "right" and turned and walked away??!!
It was one of those ("in your dreams" rights) and it does not take a genius to understand when someone is looking down on you.
Older to me is mid 60's (no offense to anyone in that age group) and seemed affluent ...jewelry and the lady was trying hard to look 40's with the hair and contemporary clothing, face lift where she looked surprised all the time.
I come from a place where no matter how terrible things are when someone greets you that you respond politely. This chance encounter simply demonstrates not everyone has that up bringing.
I understand people have a lot on their minds these days but we should never cease to be polite.
And yes snuffed would have been much worse than snubbed hahaha.

Also, older folks can feel quite vulnerable at times, a possible reason they wouldn't have replied as he had hoped. When I was young I didn't understand this, but I'm old enough to have seen it a number of times.

Many times, at least around here, the 'wow man thats a nice car' in mall parking lots, gas stations, rest areas etc is sometimes followed by 'you wouldnt happen to have a few extra dollars to spare,'
So I can see people in a rest stop just wanting to get away from someone starting a conversion. People just dont know what your intentions are..
Either way no big deal really. No law says they have to be nice to anyone, just common courtesy..
I expected a "Oh that's nice" but whatever its all good. Just wanted to vent guys and gals..rant over now.
