My off road machine is bright orange, a Kubota 1100 RTV. Not only noticeable but has a cab, heat , air conditioning and power steering. Its ruffing it in style.
To the OP: If you haven't seen IOM in person under varied lighting conditions, you simply don't know what it looks like. Pictures do not capture it. I've had many compliments on the color of my IOM 2012 GS.
Yellow is a lot brighter than orange and sticks out more, but that is not why I purchased a VY C7. I just think it looks badass with black wheels, carbon flash mirrors and spoiler, stinger stripe, and yellow calipers. I think few people buy this car to impress others. It's a great car, but it will never impress people like a new Ferrari will.
With the attention this car gets, I think it's right up there with any Ferrari as an "attention getter", at least for the next 6-12 months.
Those are some beautiful Leopard Geckos!!! I checked that website and it appears to be gone??? I just got my daughter a breeding pair of leopards but they are just the run of the mill ones. Those are gorgeous!
While I probably would not own an orange car, I love my orange cat and my house trained free roaming orange (red/green) Iguana.
I stopped breeding them three years ago, reached a pinnacle in 2007 (hatched 942 babies), took the site down a year ago.
Call me crazy but a really killer bright orange would be enough to prompt a trade out of Torch Red, which is tough to beat IMO.

and perhaps that has to do with the price differential.
I like Orange but would NEVER buy it. Orange = reduced resale value. Main stream colors are always best.
That seems like a silly reason to choose a color. How many Corvettes do you buy in your life? Do you want to always run around with your 2nd favorite just for what may or may not be a harder sell later on?
Buy what you like. Maybe the next guy will have been looking for that color too.

excellent, an honest response--you like it because of the attention. theres nothing wrong (or right) with that. personally, i believe after studying the humanoid for 70 years, that most everything we do is for the attention--which may not be correct, but its my opinion.
amazing how people look to find a way to see how someone else is trying to put them down, even when that is not the intention. now we are getting somewhere: #1) how do i convince everyone else that they are wrong, if they disagree with me, and #2) lets see if i can determine how someone is trying to be critical of me, with whatever they say.
Sh*t, no wonder we spend most of our time at war. sorry, i digress..... also, have to agree, ken, are you ok?

Orange does NOT = reduced resale value. It simply limits or narrows down the perspective buyers. To those who like orange and desire orange cars (and there are many), orange would be just as valuable if not more than many of the so called "main stream" colors. In fact, when have you seen a color selection on any bluebook sites?

well said. mercedes did a study several years ago that showed the relationship of resale value to color--good study, wish id kept a copy somewhere. i do remember that the darker colors generally retain their value better, without my being able to define "darker". i recall that bugattis seemed to have no real difference, although there was a problem with credibility, due to sample size.

Yes, but there is a difference between attention and impressing. I love my C7 and I enjoy the attention for the most part, but I didn't but it to impress anybody.

Which is exactly why it doesn't impress as many people as a Ferrari would. Most of the world tend to equate Ferrari and other exotic vehicles as status symbols and hand-crafted fine machines. I don't think people understand how impressive the C7 is for what you get, but that's the way the world works .

I always remember the Dealer dittys "Resale Red" and "No Sale Blue" the blue they talked about was a light silvery blue shade. Color counts at resale!
i guess im just too old. or, maybe just too conservative. but, i cant imagine buying an orange car. but, i am curious. it seems to me that there are a variety of reasons to buy a car of that color: 1) safety: youll see it coming, and it will not blend in with any environment, 2) it will be noticed--if youre after recognition, people will notice you for certain, 3) you will never be judged as a follower, but rather someone who is not afraid to stand up for what you believe in, 4) you will likely be evaluated as a person who is interested in cars, 5) maybe, you just like the color orange, regardless of what it is on--clothes, your house, your boat, your car (then, you probably have other items that are orange in color). anyone care to comment? am i missing anything?
You'd better watch it, you might be labeled an "Orangephobe" and you'll never be allowed to own an NBA Franchise.
Learn to love the Orange. Orange is good. Orange makes you more appealing to the opposite Sex or in some cases the same Sex, not that there's anything wrong with that.
Personally, I like the Orange. On some Cars it looks great, on others, not so much. Like anything, it's a personal preference.
