I'll check the "some people just like the color orange" box. We had an orange 350Z, am still waiting on a really bright tangerine metallic/pearl on a production car like some of the show car colors. Maybe the new Daytona Sunrise will be nice.
After a 20 year breeding project I got our geckos from dull beige and yellow to orange (don't laugh, some of the best orange ones sold for up to 3 grand each). Oh yeah, I like stripes also.
I love the oranges that were available on the C6s, especially the inferno orange. I looked for one when the color first came out, but I never found the one I wanted. Had inferno orange been available for the C7, it probably would have been my first choice. I had a VY C6 and I grew tired of the color, but admit it got attention. As for Lime Rock green, I wasn't a fan until I got to see it in person. I saw it and bought it despite my ordered black car with kalahari interior and yellow calipers was arriving the next week. I have no regrets.
i guess im just too old. or, maybe just too conservative. but, i cant imagine buying an orange car. but, i am curious. it seems to me that there are a variety of reasons to buy a car of that color: 1) safety: youll see it coming, and it will not blend in with any environment, 2) it will be noticed--if youre after recognition, people will notice you for certain, 3) you will never be judged as a follower, but rather someone who is not afraid to stand up for what you believe in, 4) you will likely be evaluated as a person who is interested in cars, 5) maybe, you just like the color orange, regardless of what it is on--clothes, your house, your boat, your car (then, you probably have other items that are orange in color). anyone care to comment? am i missing anything?
WOW, this...from a Senior Member?
It's just like saying..."Why a Brunette, Blond, Redhead, or whatever color a woman wants her hair to be!
It's personal preference and thank God we have options.
As far as you missing something...I'll divert comments to the peanut gallery. Much more fun reading them, than posting them.
Yes...REALLY!!

If GM actually offered a real orange (think Hugger Orange), instead of the washed out redish brown, metallic "oranges" it does offer, I'd be first in line. Of course if I bought one it would be over my wife's dead body.
