Default Door closing technique

I have the dumbest question known to man...

Since the C7 looks to come without the rubber grips on the exterior door coves, it seems like you're almost dared to touch the paint when closing the door from the outside.

How do you guys close your doors? With your elbow? Palm? Metal latch on the inside of door?

I use my palm right on the edge of the door and give it a good push.

I just kick it real hard right in the middle of the door. Always works.

Is this a serious question? It's a car door.

Eh, I suppose you don't mind fingerprints in your paint then. Or you wash it every other day.

I'm lazy.

Fingerprints, yes had mine all fingered up! Discovered palm on door edge seems to work best. Caution, I pinched my finger holding the door as I closed it, worked on the C6. The door release access is small and the edge is sharp angled.

I don't wash it every other day; weekly at most depending on weather (yes, I drive it in the rain - OMG!!!). I don't mind fingerprints on (not in) the paint either. I drive it and enjoy it, and don't obsess over it. It's a car.

For my truck, I carry a small amount of ICE Detailer and a detailing towel in my storage compartment for finger prints and for bugs, I hate freaking bugs

When I am just using the car I push it closed with my hand. If I am headed for a show or at the show I keep a micro towel to do the job.

If you are really that serious keep a small cloth in your pocket to close the door. I respect what your concern is about shutting the door. Back in the day when I worked hard to pay for my cars I was just as fussy as you are now.

I push the door closed with my knuckles against the glass. No fingerprints.

I close it using the bottom of the window just above the painted door. Started doing that with my 2005 C6 and it just carried over. I never touch the paint that way and fingerprints wipe right off. Note I said bottom of the window, doing it with the top of the window is not a good idea. Of course, if the windows are down its a bit hard to pull off.

I used to just pinch the rubber grip on the C6 and close it.

Palm technique sounds best. Don't worry, I won't start a thread about the fuel door. There's actually one about that, the trunk as well.

There's people more **** than me.

If I ever get a Porsche I'll try the door kicking trick

My properly gloved chauffeur follows in his personal C6 and shuts the door without leaving prints. Another group of attendants in an open bed pickup are constantly on alert to shoot down any nearby bird that dares to despoil the car. Don't all of you have properly trained servants???

I believe a shrink could hang out on this site and make enough treating "interesting behaviors" to buy a Bugatti Veyron (or two) in his first year of practice.

I use the same white gloves I use to check to see if I missed any spots after washing it.
