I'd stay away from the competition seats unless you can sit in them first to test your comfort level, if they feel comfy then go for it because they sure do look bad@$$.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I also have Competition Seats. They aren't a "must have", but I love mine. Now I'm rethinking the term "must have". If they didn't come with my Car, which wasn't ordered by me but was from Dealer Stock, I probably wouldn't have missed having them. Now that I have them, my next Corvette would have to have them as well.
Like everything else, things are worth what you're willing to pay for them. I originally had a 1LT Z51 lined up with a local Dealer and would have been satisfied with it, but when the Car arrived they changed their tune on the selling price. I ended up finding mine out of State.
Here is a pic of mine. CGM, AR, COMP SEATS, NAV, 2LT, Z51, MAG RIDE, 7 SPEED MANUAL, PERF EXHAUST, CARBON FLASH MIRRORS / SPOILER, BLACK POWDER COATED WHEELS, RED CALIPERS.
I think that's everything. Current MSRP would be close to $70,000, so you have a whole bunch of things you could live without to get the Price where you want it. In my case, it was here it is, do you want it or not? I ended spending more than I planned, but it was worth it.
By far the coolest must have option is NPP - it is quieter than the standard exhaust in touring mode (which is great if you need to make a cell phone call or just are on a long ride), and louder and throatier in the other modes.
And, as for the suggestion that you need Z51 with MRC to keep up with the handling of a Saturn Sky Redline - that comes from the many who haven't driven the Base C7.
It adds all the comfort/technology and cache features any modern day high performance sports car should have. Start with that and add other options to build your perfect Corvette.
