Not close minded, but if you spent a couple hundred thousand on mods to a stock C7 ZO6 I think you would be able to compete very favorably with Ferrari and Lamborghini. Come on, for the money the Vette is phenomenal!

I agree, but if you read the post that was referenced it said the Z06 will KILL all those cars plus the 918 and P1, that is someone that has no idea what they are talking about.

Cool comparo's. I appreciate all sorts of cars from 60's muscle to Euro exotics and everything in between. I would not lose any sleep over being beaten by one of those cars. There's always something faster out there. Enjoy what you have.

I enjoyed the video, buts a bit of Apples and Oranges. It's like going out and racing a 370z with C7. The 911 was the only close competitor and proved GM did their job as that was the benchmarked car!!!

F430 is a great car. I liked it better than the current 458. A manual F430 is probably the last of Ferrari's great sports cars. What they build now are daily drivers that double as garage queens.

Yea, I was surprised they didn't use a Z51 too. It was a regular F430, not a Scuderia. The F430 has rounded nacelles in front. The Scud does not.....
The only car the C7 really beat was the Porsche.

it was a 911 Turbo and it wouldn't have been even close had the driver of the Turbo knew what he was doing.

It just shows what horse power can do. Just imagine the Z06 taking on those cars. It would beat everything short of P1, LaFerrari, 918 Spyder on the track stock for stock.

It's always interesting how these comparo threads seem to polarize people here and make normal people argue about nonsense. Not to bring up a recurring sore point, but for those saying it should have been a z51, why? The z51 is NO faster in a straight line than the non z51 so that's like saying it should have been yellow not orange. And as for comparing it or a z06 to those exotics, again, as I said earlier, it's not about beating these cars, it's about being competitive. I was out driving with my friend this weekend in his 458. That thing is about the most beautiful and fast car imaginable but it also costs 300k. The fact that my c7 doesn't get absolutely embarrassed is fantastic. And while this video was a bunch of straight line races, it wasn't about the c7 trying to beat a lambo, a 911T, and a bunch of prancing horses, it was that its PART of that exotic fleet. That's the cool thing.

Where is the C7 Callaway? the C7 Linger? Geeezzz a C6 ZR1 would be at least a better comp choice to a street stock C7. Bring out a prepped ZR1, Callaway, new (or old prepped ZO6) ZO6 and run the same video and lets see some apples to apples comp runs. -- come on get real 1320!!
No one was expecting it to beat them. They just want to see the margins.
I get annoyed when videos don't compare stock for stock. I don't care how well any modded C6 does against these cars.

Still, I think the Vette did great against all these 6 figure cars. Can't wait to see how the Z06 does.
Cheers.

Is everybody here forgetting the comparison test one of the car magazines did (MT maybe?) at Laguna Seca pitting a C6 Z06 against a 458, McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 911T, etc., and the Vette was probably the slowest in a straight line by a lot.
BUT, around the road course, it beat everybody, which I thought was the main point of a sports car.
