2015 Corvette Price Increase

I spoke with my dealer and their claim is that the car wouldn't be price protected whether sold or retail stock order. I know that they are wrong, but the truth doesn't matter. I assume at this point I'll have to pay the extra. It's not the end of the world, but it's the same as if I went out and lit a thousand dollars on fire.
I plan to try to speak with the general manager and see if I can get him to make it right. I obviously won't be going back to this local dealer for any future purchase unless they make it right and I will enjoy filling out my survey. I probably should have ordered from a big forum dealer, but I was trying to stay local. My mistake.
I hope anyone planning an order has a better experience

Where do you find the order type on GM Order Workbench? I see my order on the GM Order Workbench but it does not tell me if it was ordered for me or as a stock unit.

To anyone out there ordering; the key in getting your order through is having a good dealership who is up front with you on the ordering procedure and HAS the allocation to get you the car YOU want made.

They can jack these prices up all they want. In late 2015 they will be selling the ******* at $7-8K off of MSRP like they always do.

Was just at a dealer today. Normally, he has 30+ new on the lot. Today, less. I asked: would you like to have more? Answer: hell yes! More selection, more sales. How does one think this dealer got down to less---by NOT selling them? I respect predictions, esp. when looking in the rear view mirror of accuracy AFTER the fact. Trouble is, no one really knows the future, and it isn't a prediction if it's already done.

Even at another $10K it's still a bargain.
(we ordered our 2014 in Dec '13 and it was on the road before any of the price increases. Makes it a better deal everytime they increase the MSRP.)

Thanks for the info, Dave. Not as bad as I feared.

Dave- are 2015 prices and options available yet? I was on the Chevy site about an hour ago and asked that question. She gave me a link for 2015 info but I lost it before I conected. The next two "chatters" wouldn't/couldn't give me the link.
Thanks
Thanks

There is a thread in the dealer inventory section with pricing and option information. I believe the title of the thread is "2015 Pricing Released". Keep in mind those prices do not reflect the latest increase.

It was "Retail-Sold"

Man, the price of a Z51 Vette has gone up nearly 10% in just a matter of a few months... GM must be banking on this car by now.
From what I've seen, sales don't seem high enough to justify this rapid of price increases. Makes me wonder if it's just artificial so dealers can more comfortably offer their own incentives.

GM see's a chance to make a ton more money, they think the market can bear it so they figured, why not?

Corvette Gets a $1,000 Price Increase
I know it might not seem like a lot, but I have to say that learning that Chevy is adding another grand to the price of the C7 irks me a little.
Now, I do believe the new Stingray is worth the $1,000 price increase that went into effect August 4 for subsequent GM orders, according to a post by Kerbeck Corvette on a Corvette Forum thread. In fact, I think the car’s worth a whole lot more than the current sticker price. It’s just the idea of how the pricing is creeping up that gets under my skin, and it certainly has sparked a lot of discussion on the forum.
Read the rest on the Corvette Forum homepage.

When you add the $1000 to the increase in the Z51 it is pretty good.
