I'm "only" 64, but your post reminded me of a comment made at a golf tournament I played in a few years ago hosted by my local Cadillac dealer. A gentleman aged 85 won a putter and when he went to the stage to get it the MC asked him about his new Caddy. He said he liked it OK, but planned to get a blue one next time...
That is the attitude to have and hope I can do that as well with a C8 and beyond.
Hey....it could happen but just so happy with this C-7. It's amazing...I was 13 years old in 1953 when the car was introduced and I was hooked for life..... at age 14 I knew a kid who saw one....and at age 15 I saw my first Vette and watch in amazement as each generation pushed the car to the world class sports car it is today. Life is good!!!!!!
I was 9 when the 53 debuted and vowed then and there I would have one. Bought a 1953 when I was 17 and still in high school for $500. I'm now 70 and have been driving vettes ever since, I now am on my 25th one from all of the first 6 generations. Don't know yet if the one I have now is my last one.
Geez, I am 56 and was genuinely thinking my C7 would be my last sports car. You guys give me cause for hope!!
Hell, I'm 69 and I lift heavy weights and do hard cardio in the gym almost every day. I feel great! I plan to keep driving for a long time. And, BTW, the vette makes me feel younger!
You didn't say if that was new when you bought it.
To me the C1's are still the most classic and beautiful vettes that were ever built. My second vette was a 57 fuelie and still today is in my top two or three out of all that I have owned. Sold the 57 to buy a brand new 63 split window, was the biggest mistake of all that I have owned and regretted that move within a week of owning the 63.
my dad just turned 85 in july, sold the farm and moved to seniors lodge last year,
finally got the money last month and so for his 85th birthday he bought a
COPPER OR GOLD JEEP WRANGLER SPORT, base model then took and got it all chromed up,
license plate is JEEEEEP mom still is mad but he kept the older car so she can ride in it,
I just bought a 2013 GS used for my 59th last summer and the wife will get her 2014 mustang convertible tomorrow,
we will get a pic all together before one of us gets too old, and earlier today DAD said he would come with us to the small town car show next july where I was born and he was raised,
Statistically because of my age, 74, this is probably my last Vette and beyond a doubt it's the best ever. I recieved my Black 2LT Vert..Kalahari interior last Thursday and have 300 miles on it so far. I requested that my car undergo additional quality audits and it be driven to verify the audit results hence it was delivered with 38 miles on it. The car is absolutely perfect... the fit is perfect... and like every one else I was concerned about orange peel. I must say that this car has a much better finish than my C-6. I am very pleased with the finish on this car...not perfect but much improved. The car itself is a major improvement in every aspect..it's just a beautiful car and amazing to drive.
After driving my C4 coupe for 13 years, I sold it 4 years ago and bought a 4Runner. I figured that would be the last car I'd ever buy since I was 73 at the time. But the C7 bug bit me and at 77, I took delivery of my LRG coupe 3 weeks ago. I enjoyed the C4, but this C7 is so impressive, it's more or less rejuvenated me. No longer will I ever say "my last car". There may be a C8 in my future.

Jeffer2013
Great joy to you all.
My wife and I have both successfully battled life threatening illness. Not fun, but what follows is priceless.
