Hi MJW930, I found the same discrepancy between the manual and the on line instructions back in June while I was trying to resolve my issue with the settings. I have no doubt there are a number of factors causing problems. About a week ago GM engineering told my dealer that the remotes for my '14 were programmed wrong, and the seat has worked well since re-programming. I don't understand it, but if it works I won't complain.

Yes, it is clear as mud. My manual states "PRESS and RELEASE, then the number. Obviously there is a great amount of confusion on your approach. I called suicide prevention, they told me not to go by the manual, press both buttons simultaneously.

That's exactly what the dealer told me, and they said GM engineering has been told about the discrepancy with the instructions. Happy motoring!!!!

well, if the dealer told me to hold both buttons simultaneously mine would be considered broken since mine works exactly like the printed manual and the software was just updated 6 weeks ago for the manual transmission update. It dont recall how it worked before the update, it might have required both buttons.

Mine's an AT, conv, 2LT, non-Z51. From day 1 I tried both methods, moving the seat away from the limiter switches, restoring everything back to factory settings, installing software updates, scratching my butt and hanging a voodoo doll in the garage. Nothing worked until they re-programmed both remotes 10 days ago. I can't believe there is only one issue causing all these problems. I appreciate all the feedback.
