I recently purchased a '15 Red Tint Coat convertible with Gray interior. I chose the gray interior color based solely on the pictures available on the Chevrolet 'build your car' website. To my surprise, the actual gray color was what I would consider to be Light Gray. The gray in the Chevy website pictures showed what could best be described as a Charcoal Gray. I definitely wanted a darker interior and only picked the darker gray based on the nice two-tone contrast appearance with the black dashboard, steering wheel and other interior items.
I have raised the issue with Chevy and am now in the process of resolution. My question to others is if anyone has had a similar experience and if so, what are my options for resolutions.
Thanks so much.
Well I knew the gray was light colored because my 2013 Buick Lucerne med blue with light gray material so if the gray was dark you could not tell the difference between black ( graphite and not dark black in cars from the 60's-80's) In the 90's black colors in cars became much lighter in color !!! Have you had it done? You act like it's not an industry standard.
Short of changing out the OP's original interior, it's the next best thing, he could even two-tone the panels if he wished.
Order some black lloyds mats and enjoy the contrast. I would not do any type of aftermarket painting/dying of the interior. OEM seat covers will also be available sooner or later if you don't want the gray seats.
That is exactly what I did. I found the grey to be too light, but still thought it looked best with the Crystal Red exterior. And when I bought my car examples in dealers were pretty scarce. If I could do it all over I would go black...
Too bad you didn't go on the color threads in this forum, if you did you would have seen some accurate pictures of what grey looked like.
I realized early on that the "Build Your Own..." site did not accurately depict the colors - interior and exterior, so I started looking at any photo I could find on the web of the colors I wanted. Saw the gray interiors were way too light, so decided to go with Adrenaline Red (with Shark Gray exterior).
My dealer, however, ordered a Shark Gray car for himself with the light gray interiors and was shocked at how light it was because he failed to research the color, first.
I actually decided to hold up placing my order until I could see a real car with the colors I was ordering. Finally did!
I looked at the "build" part of the Corvette site, the color rendering is not even CLOSE to what the gray interior looks like. Is it THAT hard to get that right (or at least CLOSE) on the company site???? I absolutely do NOT buy the "different monitor" excuse, literally everyone that looks at it (build and price) agrees that the actual color is MUCH lighter.
I don't think it's a stretch for a person (the OP) to expect that the GM site would show a reasonable representation of the interior color.

PS. Why don't they just take pictures of each exterior/interior color and use those on the website? That would be a lot closer than what they have now.
GM does lack on the site, hell, they are using the same pics of the 2014 they had and just photoshopped the new colors on the pictures if that says anything....

The dealer has a board with all the interior colors and samples of the different leather materials. You should have looked at that before you ordered.
Crystal Red with Gray interior is a very stunning color combo. Like others have said just change the floor mats to black.
