It's been one year and I'm seeing them staying on the local lot already. Things don't stay popular forever.
The popularity will be determined by the number of 2015 C7s sold by the end of August 2015, not by how many cars happen to sitting at your local Chevy dealer.
Ok sweet, so it does work. I plan to leave my stock (warranty) for awhile but of course I will run it at the local drag strip so I am glad it has that.
This will be my daily driver so I am VERY excited to have exhaust options at the touch of a button.

Well, they're not getting sold if they are sitting on lots ....

Every car on a dealer's lot eventually sells.
I don't really care personally now many 2015 C7s sell. I just don't think eye-balling dealer lots tells the whole story. I guess we'll see how many C7s sell by end of model year run.
As I stated, we'll see how many C7s sell by end of model year run. Making a general statement about popularity based on seeing C7s on a dealer's lot is incredibly short-sighted.
Yea, but they are not ordering anymore until they sell what they have. If that goes on all over, then production numbers will be lower. I don;t expect year 2 to be a huge drop, but eventually the numbers will be lower.
I live in a fairly large region with numerous Chevy dealers. Generally I rarely see many sports cars in the dealerships this time of year because of winter. The cars available on the lot now have been sitting a few months.

No one really knows for sure how many C7s will sell the next few years. IF the popularity continues GM may not have to do a GS just to try to sell more cars. If the sales figures drop like they did for the C6 it seems likely a GS would really be needed.
Pure speculation here, but for 2016 I would guess a couple of new paint options, some body trim changes, maybe a gran sport model (basically a C7 with body trim added, badging, interior update and maybe a bit more performance w/ a bumped up price tag).
Overall 2016 C7 looks will likely remain as the 2014/15 until the C8 is released in 2020. Exception being the rumored 2017 Zora (which is probably what the GM rep was alluding to. Also rumored @ a $150K price point)
You can look to previous generations and see the yearly updates to trim and fascias as each series matures. There are usually small HP tweaks along the way also.
Anyone's guess at this point,
I for one fully expect to see a mid engine C8 w/ hybrid technology as the base Corvette in 2020. Other manufacturers are forcing this design change through their releases. IMO GM will have to respond to stay competitive.
While far from an Corvette guru, but a lover of all things that go fast and coddle, despite adequate performance from new Vert, GM will have to address all the offerings from other manufacturers. There is a large gap between 450ish hp C7 and coming 638hp Z06. Mods not acceptable to most as stock always easiest to recoup and resell if forced. Although there are many shops, and many that warranty, it's difficult to compare and compete against OEM's that spend millions on R&D!
Hopefully for the Stingray new wheel options with slightly wider wheels/tires (if possible) and adding Spectra Gray color option too.
Considering the fact that they just replaced Cyber Gray with Shark Gray, I highly doubt they will discontinue Shark Gray so quickly and replace it with another one. In fact I wouldn't expect Shark Gray to be replaced by any other gray for at least 2 or 3 model years, unless it's one of the bottom two sellers but it doesn't appear to be going that way so far.
I still think GM will bring another model in between the base Stingray with or without the Z51 package and the new Z06. Somewhere in around 550 HP. Some say Grand Sport, however they might call it something else. Whether (if) that happens in 2016 or later is not known. Perhaps they are waiting for the mid-engine Zora.
now dont get me wrong, im going to love my z51 vert 8a being built week of 12/22. i got a 2014 a6 base car knowing the 8a PDR car was a year away. i learned a ton for owning a c7 and this forum. the only thing i will miss on the 2016?, 2017? is when they made a wide body car( grand sport?) ok ready? the 8.5/10 inch wheels are a joke on these z51's, 245/285 tires also a joke! i ran 315/30/18's front and back on my c7, 295/30/18's looked better on the front. i want to run 335 or 345 out back, the way it is now NO WAY!! in the scca the c7 is in SS class, when you put hoosiers on your in ssr with cars that came with 9.5/ 12 rims from factory( i think you see where this is going) i had to go to SSP to have a chance at FTD, came close a few times. some day my 2015 z51 will be called the skinny c7! there is a market for a wide body car without more HP.

There's a difference between a few unsold cars at a yearly level of 37000 cars per year, versus a few unsold at 13000 cars per year like the late C6 era.
