Default GM Splash Guard installation steps

I have used the search function and can't seem to find anything specific under "Installation GM splash guards".

Can anyone point me at a video or set of instruction steps that show how to install both the front and rear GM standard splash guards?

I have some on order and before I start taking out bolts and pulling things apart, I always like to have some instructions. I found an install video on YouTube for ACC splash guards but did not find one for the standard GM splash guards.

Its so simple, Probably nobody has done it… Take out the 7 mm bolt at the bottom , use your hands and rip the old one off it's all on snaps , snap new one on, replace bolt.

All common sense.....

Unscrew bolt, pop off factory guard, insert tabs of new guard into slots in fender well, tap to seat, re screw bolt. Move to next wheel. Maybe 5 minutes per wheel. 7mm bolt head, I believe.

There's one small bolt underneath a couple inches back. Take that out and they snap in and out. It's super easy.

Can someone tell me what these splash guards actually do? Are they just for appearance?

They do help. The extra width contributes to protection for the sides of the vehicle. Are they outrageously priced for the slight difference compared to the factory "configuration"? Yes. Am I happy I have them? Yes.

My GM splash guards came w/ instructions. Very easy installation, even a caveman can do it!

Dirty? a lil.. Corrosion? no. Glen lives in Florida as do I and a lot of the roads here have sand and dirt on them and are generally 'not perfect' lol. Also, this is usually a sign of somebody who actually DRIVES their car and doesn't park it in the garage to only put 1,000 miles a year on it. (sorry guys, can't stand those who do that!)

I know this is an older thread, but then again, I'm a new owner

Just got the splash guards from GM Parts Direct, and have a very simple question...

The guards came with new metal clips attached. When I remove the factory mud flaps, do they come off with the metal clips, or do the metal clips stay in the body?

I'm assuming (always a bad outcome) that they remove with the old metal clips, and then I just snap the new flaps with new metal clips back in the slots?

Thanks,

Ken

Clips should stay on the part, and just snap the new ones on...

Even I could do it....

Very expensive IMO, I'll stick with black. They match the trim anyway.
