Just beware of people selling the original liners they take out as "splash guards". For awhile the classifieds were full of these, and I'm sure a lot of people got duped into buying something their cars already had.
Took me 15 minutes. And yes, they do provide a little more protection. Side skirts more, or Xpel/others in critical areas.
This is an old thread but there are new owners so for those, here is a PDF with lots of pics of my install: http://netwelding.com/Splash_Guard.pdf The only thing to watch if installing without jacking up the car (which is not needed) is which of 3 closely spaced screws to remove. I have a pic and sketch useful for folks getting museum delivery and wanting to install in a parking lot! It lists the tools you'll need to bring!
Several months after installing realized the rear ones were doing what was desired to protect that area but the front ones were not. Just look at where GM put that heavy plastic covering, from the center of the door back to the front of the rear wheel well. No way a small splash guards can protect that area. My plastic was still getting marked with pebbles etc. Installed side skirts and solved the problem to a point of being able to removed the discolored marked up GM plastic.
C7 will be 3 years old in October and rocker panels look new!
Black is best anyhow.... you want them to blend in with the wheelwells of the car and be less noticeable. Painting them makes them stand out and look like ears hanging off each fender.

True Joey, sellers are doing the same on EBay. Almost bought a set myself until I figured out what was going on.
