He told me the same thing. He also stated that they were working on other possible solutions and would make a decision soon. I have the plastic prototype 4 1/2" arm and it shakes way too much. It drives me crazy!
Besides the shaking did that solve the problem of the GPS going in and out?
Yes, it works just fine once it finds a signal which is usually within a minute or two after I back out of the garage. No problems if left out in the open. Not sure what they are contemplating.
That's good to hear that the 4 1/2 inch arm, will correct that GPS problem. Hopefully enough people will contact, Blend Mount to get them to produce the long arm. I have read on other threads that people are interested in that radar detector mount but are hesitant to purchase it because of the GPS problems with the max. Maybe some public pressure will speed up the process.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do if they decide to not go forward with the arm. I don't know if there are any reasonable solutions without the RD looking out of place. The arm puts the RD much closer to the windshield. It is a bit more obvious to anyone looking at the windshield in from the outside than before. Worst case scenario, I buy the Escort RedLine or something comparable. I really don't want to go that route, though.
Do you think if that plastic Proto type was aluminum, would it still shake? And if not. I don't know if you know any machinists, who can reproduce that same part for you in aluminum.

I can't see the longer aluminum arm shaking to the extent the plastic arm does now. The only thing that concerns me now is that because the arm is longer, there might be more tension on the clamp at the stem.

Well I guess we'll have to see what Blend Mount does. At this time my C7 is in storage, so I'm not in a big hurry.
I already ordered a Blendmount for my Escort. Are you guys saying it makess the mirror shaky?
No, not the mirror. BM sent me a plastic prototype of an extended 4 1/2" arm to test out to see if the GPS signal picks up continually using the Escort Passport Max. The plastic arm shakes a lot. Hopefully, a new aluminum arm will be produced and should eliminate any shaking of the RD. The mirror does not move one bit.
I'm still driving mine here in TX. So, I want to resolve this soon and once and for all.
I just got an email from Mark of Blendmount. He said that they are producing the longer arm and is shipping mine out to me today. Just checking if you also got that email, Da Hawk.

I got an email from him as well. He said that it has been produced and will be mailed to me tomorrow. Hopefully, we can out some closure on this.
Had the Great Lakes mirror mount on my C6 and loved it!
Peeled it off when I sold the car as I thought I would try it on my C7.
Fits just fine, just peeled off the old adhesive strips and put on a 3M double faced tape and mounted on my C7. Perfect!
I don't like the visor mount nor the suction cups on the windshield. Well hidden on the mirror and it is a snap to remove when the top is out, just put it in the drop down door on the screen. Great buy IMHO.
Has anyone been successful in finding a mirror mount for a C7 that works well with my little ESCORT (wireless) Solo. I'm used to just placing it on the level dash of my C4, but that wont work with my C7.
So your suction cups are visable on the glass from outside? That's one thing I'm trying to avoid. On my current set up they're attached in the dot matrix area (have a piece of clear bra material there for it to stick too) and it sights just below the blue sunvisor line. I intend on having that area tinted on my '15 as I see it's not standard any longer, but the area where the mirror is has some plastic right up against the window (I believe this is the OnStar module/PDR if equipped)

That plastic enclosure will be there even if you don't have the PDR unit.
