Default Radar detector mount

Anyone use the great lakes mirror mount for the C7? I used their visor mount in my C6 which I liked. I have a hard time spending $100+ for a blendmount, seems excessive for a mount.

I still use the suction cups mount for my Val 1, positioned just to the left of the mirror, works great for me.

A couple of forum members have posted that they are using the great Lakes mount and are very happy with it.
I had the blend mount on my C6 and agree way over priced.

I used this suction cup from Best Buy on my C5, and now on my 7. Works very well and only $20.

I went with the Blendmount. No suction cups or wires. Nice and clean. It's worth the money.

I initially had a hard time spending that much for the Blendmount in my C6 but eventually bit the bullet and wow am I glad I did. It's been rock solid, it looks like an OEM part. You have an expensive car, what's $100+ at this point?

Like the OP, I am interested in the Great Lakes mount too. I like the detector to the side of the mirror, and higher.

That way it's more out of sight. Then I can use the V1 concealed display away from the windshield.

Blendmount with spacers to move it forward and up higher. I tried the suction cups etc, but it hung too low for my taste.

That's a really nice setup with the spacers.

I had one on my C7 - worked well. Left it on my C7 when sold it as I was afraid I might break the mirror trying to get it off.

I am using the Great Lakes mount with zero problems and at a fraction of the cost of the Blendmount. Sorry, no pics at the moment as the car is outside in the cold garage and I am sitting at my computer, warm and comfy, sipping on a Merlot....

As requested. Here are some photos with the Great Lakes mirror mount installed in my C7 vert. The mount attaches to the rear of the mirror with a healthy strip of 3m automotive tape. When I mounted mine, I clamped the mount to the mirror overnight just to make sure she was good and stuck. The mount has functioned perfectly since then...
