Your internal antenna installation bothers me for 2 reasons:
1) Being inverted, the main lobe (pattern) of the antenna is below the horizontal instead of above it
when running no more than 5 watts... and using a handheld antenna, the RF exposure is no more than a handheld would be. Never go above 5x TX and you'll be fine.
I've run my particular setup in multiple Corvettes; worked fine for years & years. True, no better performance than a handheld... but I didn't want the hassle of a handheld either.
