I've been reading the various front grill mod threads and was curious if anyone has compared the difference between the GM OEM Z06 grill and the ACS C7 Stringray Five1 grill?
The GM Z06 grill has an obvious price advantage, however I also like the look of ACS Five1 grill and was curious if their mold is a better quality than the OEM grill. I know it's more expensive, however it is unique in it's design.
Then again, I could always get a sharks tooth grill!

Go for the Sharks tooth one - your car would really stand out.
Seriously, tough choice between the OEM and ACS grilles - they both look very good. I would lean towards the OEM one based on cost savings, but if that doesn't matter then the ACS would be more unique, at least until more of them are bought and installed on cars.

What's scary is I've seen crazier mods than that sharkstooth grill over the years.
I guess the original picture of the ACS grill above is actually upside down. Below is a picture of it installed on a Crystal Red Stingray. I like it and it adds a unique design aspect.
What's funny is that after hanging around the C5 General forum most of the past few years, how many C7 Z06 components are available for the non-Z06 Stingray. I remember when C5 coupe/vert owners were adding the rear Z06 (functional) brake ducts and how they got flamed for trying to make their non-Z06 Corvette look like a Z06. I don't see that as much here on the C7 forum as the Z06 components such as the front splitter, side skirts, front grille, rear quarter vents, steering wheel, etc., are now being swapped over into the non-Z06 Stingray.
All good as long as you don't slap a Z06 emblem on the front fenders I guess.
I thought the shark thing was a gag but omg they actually sell that f ing thing, wow just wow

Amazes me how many people balk at the price difference. Guys will spend thousands of dollars on shiny decorative parts in the engine compartment when the hood is closed and out of sight most of the time, or thousand and thousands of dollars on wheels and the list goes on and on. Yet so many complain about a few hundred dollars. To me, it's a no brainer. Add a Z06 grille, which based on the endless "ANOTHER Z06 GRILLE INSTALL" and be like everyone else or for a few extra bucks, have something unique and something that's not a copy for a superior model. Don't get me wrong, the Z06 grille looks great, but I think the ACS grille looks better and again, is unique. Going to be funny when all the Z06 guys get tired of all the base model cars copying them and end up buying the ACS grilles to make their cars different from the rest.
I dislike the base grill, but not $1000 worth of hate. The Z06 part was about as much as I would spend on a cosmetic part and the ACS part doesn't look that great to me. If GM would have offered a $50 chrome delete option I would have went that route when ordering.

Yeah, $1000 on a grille is absurd. I understand the R&D cost as well as tooling, but there's no way I'd buy the ACS product even though I do think it looks great.
Yep as referenced in post 4 with a picture of it installed right side up.
You know, I looked at that picture several times and read the post, but apparently missed the clarification. Watching the Sugar Bowl while checking the board, so I guess I was distracted. Thanks for clarification. Looks much better right side up!
I feel the best bang for the buck is the TKO Performance Carbon Fiber Grill Insert. It installs OVER the existing chrome strip and is only about $240 shipped.
