Back in the early 80's when I sold Pontiac Firebirds, you had two buyers. Smokey & the Bandit buyers wanted the spoiler. Rockford buyers (Rockford Files TV show) was spoilerless..... They came in and said "I want the "Rockford look"
I love the C7 Stingray with either spoiler...just two different examples of beauty. It's great that the OP was able to achieve this degree of customization in a mass produced automobile.
It took a while, but thanks to Scott at Criswell, I got it just the way I wanted. 2LT, 7-speed, Blade Silver/Jet Black, Machined wheels, Performance exhaust. Spoiler delete.
pretty incredible that something as small as the lack of a full length spoiler can cause you to refer to this beautiful car as "hideous."

As usual, to Jake everything is crazy except his opinion. He was complaining someone else's exhaust tips made the rear end look poorly in another thread. BTW, his wheels add to the hideous look of the car in the photo.
Bought a ZF1 for the Wheels and tires, not for the spoiler. It would of been nice to have paid a little less for the wheels and tires only. I could of lived without the spoiler. If they did not have the ZF1 package then I would of gone with the Z51 package or bought the base and then get some nice aftermarket 19 & 20's.
As a general rule, I find the spoilers on most production cars look tacked on and cheap. My opinion. If they were really integrated into the bodywork I might feel differently, but there's not much difference in the look of a factory bolt-on spoiler and a JC Whitney bolt (or tape)-on spoiler on a Honda Civic. The designer created the car without that extra plastic, and rarely does sticking a piece of plastic on something improve the design. Again, my opinion.
The spoiler option on the Stingray is better than many, but I still think the car looks cleaner without it. Either way, though, the Stingray is an awesome looking car, so buy it the way you like it.

And "if" a spoiler really works (few do), they don't cut in until about 140 MPH.
